Over this past weekend the Lord showed me a couple things about harvest that I want to share with you today, these are simply things that happened in my own personal life and how I perceived what God was showing me.

On Thursday the Lord prompted me to purchase a couple dozen jars for my Aunt Sherry who helps me can vegetables each year. It was not really something I ‘wanted’ to do that day but I did it. Hours later I was driving home. Again, at the prompting of the Lord I felt I needed to take them to her that night. It was after 8pm and I really didn’t want to get out again, she lives about 20 miles from me out in the country and I just didn’t want to make the drive.

However, the prompting wouldn’t leave therefore I called her and told her that I was going to run out there for a moment. When I walked in her house with the jars she said ‘Kim, you didn’t have to do that!’ I dropped the jars off and went back home.

The next day she called and said they had been in their garden and her tomatoes were ready so she and her husband got them in the house and ready for canning. She said ‘Kim, if you had not brought me those jars last night I would not have been able to can my tomatoes.’ She said ‘I thought I had more jars in the attic but when I looked I didn’t have any more, thank you for bringing those last night, I don’t know what I would have done without them.’

Now, to the next story and then I will bring them both together…

There is a man whose name is Mr. Crawley; he lives in my area who sells peaches. These are grown on his property and they are the best peaches ever. Last year we had no rain so he did not sell peaches, I missed them. This year I began to call his number a couple weeks ago to see if he had peaches this year.
I was finally able to reach him over the weekend, only to find out he would not have peaches again this year because of several issues he had with too much rain, bugs and such. He said ‘maybe next year.’ I said ‘I will be praying for your harvest for next year.’ He said ‘thank you!’

God showed me something through all of this. Many of us are worried or praying about ‘our’ harvest. When the truth of the matter is, each of our harvest affects the others harvest. If I am not doing my part, like with my Aunt Sherry, someone else is not able to process their harvest.

If I am not doing my part by standing in faith with others about THEIR harvest, if their harvest doesn’t come in, it will affect my harvest.

We are not to be single minded in this, it’s not just about us, we are the body of Christ, we are the church, we are all in this together and one harvest affects another.

If you are not doing what God prompts you to do, it will affect someone else’s harvest in a negative way and that is a really bad seed to sow. On the other hand if you are doing what God prompts you to do, you are empowering their ability to harvest and that is an awesome seed to sow.

Also, when you are praying about your harvest, you need to pray about other people’s harvest as well; you never know how their harvest will affect you or your harvest. For instance, if you are in sales and you need to make a sell, when someone else has a harvest come in, they will come in to buy, therefore pray for your future customers.

The truth is….if we were all doing our part, there would be no lack, just like it was in the book of Acts 2; they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

In these scriptures we see they all pitched in and there was no lack among them…that is the Body of Christ.

I hate lack and I want it out of the life of every born again believer, and I am going to keep pressing and keep doing until I see it removed from the lives of our partners and readers, as least as much as I can. I hope you will join me in the fight against lack. God has called us to abundance, not lack. I truly believe we can abolish lack, if we do it God’s way. We have to be willing to provide for others when God prompts us to, knowing it is either affecting their harvest in a positive way or negative way, depending on how we respond or obey. And we have to be willing to pray for others…especially for those whose harvest affects our harvest…those in the body of Christ. Remember, we are all in this together. God has blessed us to be a blessing.

I truly believe harvest is here and God is showing us how to partake of it….I want to be a part of it, how about you?
