I shared with you yesterday how God prompted me to create a fresh vision board for 2023 – I hope you are praying about doing the same.

This morning, as I sat in my prayer room, this vision board was in my line of vision. I couldn’t look up without seeing it. Numerous times it caught my focus, therefore, I began to sit and listen for what God was saying to me. He took me to Genesis 30.

Now Jacob took for himself rods of green poplar and of the almond and chestnut trees, peeled white strips in them, and exposed the white which was in the rods. And the rods which he had peeled, he set before the flocks in the gutters, in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink, so that they should conceive when they came to drink. So the flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks brought forth streaked, speckled, and spotted. Then Jacob separated the lambs and made the flocks face toward the streaked and all the brown in the flock of Laban; but he put his own flocks by themselves and did not put them with Laban’s flock. And it came to pass, whenever the stronger livestock conceived, that Jacob placed the rods before the eyes of the livestock in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods. But when the flocks were feeble, he did not put them in; so the feebler were Laban’s and the stronger Jacob’s. Thus the man became exceedingly prosperous, and had large flocks, female and male servants, and camels and donkeys. (Genesis 30:37-43)

Most of us are familiar with this story. Laban had robbed Jacob of his wages over and again. However, Jacob had a plan to provide himself with a flock, even in unfavorable circumstances. What did he do?

He and Laban had a deal, Jacob would get all the offspring that were spotted or striped, therefore, he placed rods that were striped and partly colored before the eyes on the flocks, in the very place they would gather to conceive. He did this believing they would have lambs and kids with specks and spots. His belief was what they continually saw before their eyes, they would give birth to. What he believed, rapidly came to pass.

For me, my prayer room is my place of conception. It is the area in which I spend time with God and give birth to the things God has put in my heart. Therefore, my prayer room is the perfect place to place my vision board before my eyes.

God was showing me this morning, I could do just like Jacob did. Place His Word, His promises before my eyes and expect to conceive the very thing I was seeing while meditating on His Word, while giving conception to His promise.

I hope that makes sense to you – it certainly did to me. God is no respecter of persons, what He did for Jacob, He will do for us.

What was Jacob’s outcome? The Bible said he broke forth exceedingly prosperous, becoming rapidly rich, and had large flocks, female and male servants, and camels and donkeys.

I love this! Jacob became …

  • Exceedingly prosperous
  • Rapidly rich
  • With large flocks

I believe God is showing me this truth in His Word once again, to compel me to release my faith to see every single thing on my prayer board come to pass. To give conception to the things He has put in my heart by keeping them daily before my eyes. I believe, like Jacob, my time praying over my vision board will be exceedingly prosperous and breakthrough will come rapidly. How about you?

Today, I encourage you to pray about creating a vision board, or book, or whatever God leads you to do and then keep it before your eyes? For how long? Until you see each promise come to pass before your eyes. To God be all the glory!
