Over the past week I have had time to meditate on some things God has placed on my heart – things for this season.  I want to share them with you over the next few writings, if I may.

One thing I know – God is going to protect his people.

Many people are afraid.  Afraid of losing a loved one.  Afraid of losing their job.  Afraid of getting sick and not being able to get the appropriate medications.  Fearful of where the world is headed.  Concerned about inflation.  There is a plethora of things we could be worried about if we so choose.

Psalm 37:25 says, “I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.”

Psalm 34:7 says, “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him and delivers them.”

Throughout the Bible we find hundreds of promises of protection for the people of God.  We also see there are conditions for these promises to manifest.  For instance, “I have never seen the righteous forsaken…”  If we are in right standing with God (and only we know that) we will not be forsaken, so will we have to beg for bread.

Also, “The angels of the Lord encamp about those who fear him…” If we have a healthy fear of the Lord, the angels of God will then surround us daily with protection.

It’s up to us to embrace the fear of the Lord and it is up to us to remain in right standing with God – when we do those things – we will see these promises fulfilled in our life.

Now, more than ever, I know the angels of God are poised on assignment for all of God’s children.  I know they are surrounding the people of God and their families.  I am persuaded of that truth. That being said, there are some important things we must remember about the angels of God and how they operate.

Psalm 103:20 tells us exactly what angels harken to.

Bless the LORD, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.

Angels only harken to the word of God. In the season we are in, it is vital to speak God’s word over every situation in your life. If we are speaking our fears and concerns, the angels do not harken to those words – they ONLY harken to the word of God.  When we speak the word of God – they are constantly moving on our behalf.  Watching over God’s word to perform it.

Another thing to remember about angels is that they can be provoked.

In Luke 1, the angel Gabriel announced to Zachariah that he would have a son.  However, Zachariah did not believe him…

And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you [d]these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”

Refuse to doubt the word of God.  Choose not to walk in unbelief.  Faith in God’s word coming out of your mouth cause the angels of God to work on your behalf…to not only surround you with protection but also to bring to pass God’s promises in your life.

Believing and speaking God’s word is key in this hour, my friend.  Don’t allow anything else to come out of your mouth.

I am often reminded of a verse in Numbers 14:28 where God said, “Tell them, as I live, says the Lord, what you have said in My hearing I will do to you.”

We must keep this scripture as our guide.  Are the words coming out of our mouth what we desire to see happen in our life?  If not, they should not be coming out of our mouth.

This one thing I know – God is going to protect HIS people – as we trust in Him.  For the next thing I know…it will be in your email box tomorrow.  Until then…Blessings!
