I guess the many responses to last week’s writing should have been no surprise.  Fear is everywhere – even in the church.

I recently had a friend whose father was hospitalized with covid.  Physically he was doing okay – but the fear of it all was something he couldn’t shake.  I prayed against fear more than anything when praying for him.

The media would want us to believe covid is a death sentence, but that’s not the truth.  Yes, some have died but many have lived.  I wonder if it isn’t the fear of it and the weariness that comes from the fear that overtakes them?

We talked last week about my dream of grasshoppers and how they represent feeling inferior and timid concerning those who are over us.  However, that is not the only thing grasshoppers represent.

They also represent a devourer.

1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

Please read this carefully.

The enemy is SEEKING someone he MAY devour.  In other words, he is having to look intently and diligently to find someone.  That someone does not have to be you.

Do not let it be you.

Please listen to me today.  If you are spending hours listening to the news, talking to friends about the news or fighting with people on social media about what is going on…you will partner with fear.  There is no way around it.  Do not partner with fear – what you partner with multiplies – just like it did in my dream.

Ephesians 4:27 tells us to give no place to the devil.  The word, place, in this scripture means; opportunity, power, occasion to act, and it means home.

Do not let the devil (fear) take up residence in your home.  Give him no opportunity to work in your life.

Fear opens the door to the devil.  And he will bring all his friends with him.  You must resist fear with all that is within you.  The Bible tells us when we resist him, he must flee.  You must continually speak against fear and tell it to go.  We must do like Jesus did and declare, “IT IS WRITTEN, God has not given me a spirit of fear, go devil, in Jesus’ name.”

There is a scripture that has come to mind many different times when I see or hear the news reports.  It is found in Luke 21:26. It says, “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.”

Fear has no place in you.  You belong to God.  He has not given you a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.  Do not fall into the trap of fear.  Trust me, it is indeed, a trap.  It gives the devil a foothold in your life – one you do not want him to have.

Today, instead, rejoice and trust in the Lord.  He’s got this! You are in covenant with Him.  He will not fail you.  Yes, weapons may be formed BUT they will not prosper against you.  Stand firm in His word.

Remember…when we keep our mind UPON GOD and trust Him, He will keep us in perfect peace.  Do you have perfect peace today?  If so, great! If not, where is your mind?  Is your faith in God?  Fear is faith in something – but not in God.  Check where your focus is today and make sure it is on God and His word.  He is faithful.

Appoint My Days

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me today.  Father, Your anointing is on me. It breaks yokes off the oppressed, causes blind eyes to see, deaf ears to hear, hearts to open and understand. It causes the sick to be healed, needs to be met, and it draws full attention to Your Word. Father, Your Word is alive in me today! Revelation knowledge flows out of me every day. I operate in the gifts of the Spirit as the Spirit wills today. Luke 4:18, Isaiah 61; I Cor. 12
