When Joyce Meyer stated, “the battlefield is in the mind” she couldn’t have been more right.

We can speak the truth in love, but we cannot change the mind of people.  Only God can do that.  We can only pray that God will reveal the truth to them and that they will begin to walk in this truth.

This is especially true with family and loved ones.

We want to see those we love walking in the fullness of the blessings of God.  However, we can not make that shift for them.  It’s a path they must make on their own.

I have watched people in my life struggle financially for many years.  Most of them love God and are born again.  However, when it comes to finances, there are areas that are lacking in following the word of God.

They struggle with God’s word concerning finances.

Recently one person shared something with me…it was a pivotal moment.  A moment when I realized a divine shift had taken place in their mindset.  I thank God for this.  It was indeed a battlefield in their mind – one they got victory over.  To God be all the glory.

I read a quote this morning that said, “we make a living by what we get.  We make a life by what we give.”

God’s word says, “it is in giving that we receive.”  Giving is a part of our life.  Or it should be.  There is nothing I enjoy more than giving.

I recently read an article that said it was scientifically proven that those who give generously are happier and live longer.  Which reminded me of another quote I once read.  It said, “Giving is the master key to success in all aspects of life.”

A generous heart is one turned toward God.  God loved us so much that He gave.  He gave all.  I want that same heart.  One that I am open to give whatever God requires of me.  Or asks of me.  I want a heart so turned toward God that if He whispers gently to me, I hear and obey.

I have a friend in another state who lives off her giving.  For years she has given abundantly above what the Bible says.  Now, she is living, debt free, in abundance, totally off her giving.  She doesn’t work.  Doesn’t have a weekly paycheck coming in – she is living off her giving.

My friend is open to give whatever God nudges her to give.  Without hesitation.

I love to listen to her talk about how she does things and how she has been doing them.  It is something I wish everyone knew.

I would love for every single one of my family members and partners walk in the fulness of the blessings of God.  To do that, they will have to do it God’s way.  The way of the word of God.  Just like my friend does.

So, what then is required?  A mind shift.  Victory in the battlefield of the mind.  That’s where the battle is won, not only in finances, but in every situation.  How do we do that?

By renewing our mind to the word of God.  By daily spending time in the word of God specifically for the circumstances in our life.  If you need a mind shift concerning healing, spend time meditating on healing scriptures.

If you need a mind shift in finances, spend time meditating on the word of God concerning finances.

If you need a mind shift in restoration, spend time meditating on the word of God for restoration.  Whatever you need, it is found in the word of God.

God has given us answers for all things that pertain to life.  His word is that powerful and it will not return void.  If you put the word in, your mind will shift to His way of thinking and doing.  Once that happens, everything else will line up with the word of God.  The battlefield is in the mind.  It’s time we shift our thinking and gain victory in our thought life. It’s time for a shift in our thinking.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.  Philippians 4:8
