In a recent conversation with a friend, we talked about the importance of building a wall around us. A wall of protection. A wall of the Word of God.
My friend shared with me how he once confessed healing scriptures over himself daily…for a while, at least. Then he stopped. Life got busy and he no longer took the time to confess the word over himself daily. Recently, he is battling sickness.
While I am not saying sickness won’t come if we confess the Word over ourselves, I am saying, we can build a wall of protection around ourselves that will enable us to overcome anything the enemy brings our way.
I shared with my friend how I confessed the Word of God over myself for many years, every single day. I built a wall of healing around me. Consequently, I did not battle sickness for many years. For about ten years I didn’t even catch a cold. Then life got busy, and I stopped confessing the Word over myself. Frankly, I hadn’t been sick in so long, I didn’t see the necessity of it.
It took a while, actually, a couple years, for the wall I had built to begin to crumble. I didn’t face sickness when I first stopped confessing the Word – that came over time. Now, I can look back and see the wall I had built around me, slowly, slowly, began to crumble. Once it did, sickness found its way in.
I have learned by personal experience that we can, indeed, build a wall of protection around us. It can be a wall of healing or financial freedom or any of the other wonderful things Jesus paid for at the cross. It takes time and discipline, but it can be done.
I think about Nehemiah’s plight. He knew his city had been destroyed and there was no longer a wall around the city. Therefore, his fellow man was unprotected. He purposed to rebuild the wall and restore that protection. He did it – in 52 days.
It takes time and discipline, but it can be done.
In Bible days walls represented protection. They still do today. I have seen the effects of a strong wall of protection, and I have seen the consequences of allowing those walls to crumble.
Today, I want to encourage you to begin to build a wall immediately. Don’t put it off. Start now. How do you do that? With the Word of God. By declaring it over your life each and every day. Not only over you, but also over your children and other family members.
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. Psalm 18:30
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Proverbs 30:5
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
It is by the Word of God we build our wall. Take the time to look up scriptures, write them down and then confess them daily. You can also go to our website and download tons of scriptures. Build your wall of protection over you and your family – you will be so glad you did.
Appoint My Days
I take the shield of faith and quench every fiery dart that the wicked one brings against me. Faith enables me to overcome every hindrance, obstacle, and attack. Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law; therefore. I forbid any sickness or disease to come upon this body. Every diseased germ and every virus that touches this body dies instantly in the Name of Jesus. Every tissue and every organ of this body functions to the perfection to which God created it to function. I forbid any malfunction in this body in the Name of Jesus.
