I was reading a scripture the other day and it was so good that I had to stop and meditate on it for a few days…don’t you love that about the word?
It is so good that you must chew on it for a while, savoring the taste of it. I can fully understand why the word of God says, ‘taste and see that the Lord is good’. When you taste the word of God, you taste Him.
The scripture I was meditating on is found in Hebrews 1:3; it says that God upholds all things by the word of His power.
As I said, I meditated on this scripture for several days and then I did a word study.
Word in this scripture means that which has been uttered by the living voice, a declaration of one’s mind made in words, a matter of command, a saying.
Power is translated as dunamis. It means strength, ability, and inherent power, power residing in a thing or which a person exerts and puts forth, to be able to do something, to be capable, strong and powerful.
Uphold means to carry some burden, to bear, to endure, to bring forth or forward.
This is an awesome scripture, it is literally telling us that God carries the world, this entire universe by the strength and ability of the word of God, the word is able, capable and strong enough to bear the weight of it victoriously. Meditate on that truth for a moment.
Don’t you know that if the word of God is enough to bear and carry this entire world that it is well able to bear and carry your world?
There is absolutely nothing going on in your life that the word, spoken in faith, can’t change. It is a force, a strong powerful force well able to bring forth whatever you need to come forth in your life.
The Amplified Bible says that God upholds, maintains, guides and propels the universe by His mighty powerful word. If that is truth and it IS then you and I can maintain, guide, uphold and propel our world and all that we desire to be in it, the exact same way, by the powerful word of God spoken out of our mouth.
One of the reasons I believe we live beneath our covenant rights is because we simply don’t know or don’t believe the power of the word of God. We don’t realize the power of His word once it comes out of our mouth in faith. There is great power in the word of God spoken out of your mouth, it will bring forth whatever you are declaring that lines up with the word of God.
I encourage you today to get your Bible out and begin to meditate on this word found in Hebrews 1:3.
It changed the way I prayed. Once I prayed using this scripture, I felt the impact, I felt the assurance that it was done, and I must say, it was a wonderful feeling.
The word of God is powerful, it can uphold, bear, and carry whatever you need it to carry. It can bring forth whatever you are speaking forth out of your mouth and it can maintain your victory, isn’t that great news!!!
Psalm 138:2 declares You have exalted Your Word above Your name! Think about that!
We know that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that He is Lord! At the name of Jesus, demons flee, sickness leaves, storms subside, and peace comes! At the name of Jesus is all power and authority! And God says He has exalted His Word above even that!
Read the whole chapter; I will give thee thanks with my whole heart: Before the gods will I sing praises unto thee. I will worship toward thy holy temple, And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. In the day that I called thou answered me, thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul. All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O Jehovah, for they have heard the words of thy mouth. Yea, they shall sing of the ways of Jehovah; For great is the glory of Jehovah. For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly; But the haughty he knows from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; Thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand will save me. Jehovah will perfect that which concerns me: Your lovingkindness, O Jehovah, endures forever; Forsake not the works of thine own hands.
His word, spoken over your life, is perfecting all things that concern you. That is a powerful truth, my friend.
Prayer for today: Father, I thank you for your word. It is indeed, powerful. I ask you to release the fulness of the power of the word of God into my life now in Jesus name. Amen.
