A friend of mine once called me while on a trip to the beach.  She had arrived at the beach and started toward the ocean to send me a photo.  However, she called to let me know she could not send the photo.

She explained to me that there was a fog on the beach, separating the beach from the ocean.  She couldn’t see anything.

She said it was so odd.  She could hear the ocean.  She could even smell it, but she could not see beyond the fog.

This story has come to mind several times this past week as I hear stories of mass chaos at the grocery stores.

It seems like there is a fog in front of us, trying to distract. Trying to take our eyes off what lies ahead.  The only question is…will we see beyond the fog?  Or will the fog, or the fear, stop us.

God has declared many powerful things to us concerning this year.  None of it included fear or mass chaos.

I only have to look at the notes throughout my house to remember some of the things God has said about this year.

He said it was a time to receive our inheritance.  He said it was a year of blessing.  He said there was great power in our words, and an anointing on our declarations.  He has even said we were marching into miracles this month.  There have been powerful, prophetic words concerning this year.

The key will be keeping our eyes on God through the fog.

The enemy knows something we don’t know.  He doesn’t want us to see it.  I am convinced something glorious is before us, just beyond the fog and chaos of the moment.  It must be really big for him to go to all this trouble, don’t you think?

1 Corinthians 13:12 says in the Message Bible; We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears, and the sun shines bright!

That my friend is where I think we are.

We can’t see what is truly happening clearly yet.  We are squinting in a fog, peering through the mist.  But…it won’t be long now.  The weather will clear, and the sun will shine brightly…then we will see as God sees.

Therefore, hold steady.  Do not fear.  Don’t listen to what the news media is shouting day after day.  Instead listen to the word of the living God.  Dig into His word.  Worship and praise Him.  Spend as much time with God as you do reading about the virus.  Keep your eyes on Him.  As you do, you will find you are in perfect peace.  His peace will guide you through the fog, all the way to the other side – the abundant life.  Never doubt it.  Don’t let the fog stop you or even slow you down. Keep moving.  Advance toward what God has already said is yours this very year.  Then you will see and experience the glory…beyond the fog.

Let’s Pray

Father, I thank You that we have eyes to see and ears to hear what You are saying in this hour.  We refuse to get our eyes on the distractions.  We set our gaze on You and Your word.  We shall not be moved.  We will experience all You have vowed and promised to manifest in our lives this very year.  In Jesus name.  Amen.
