I want to share something with you that I heard this morning.
I was listening to a man tell about his granddaughter who had drown in a swimming pool. She had been submerged in the pool for several minutes before she was discovered. When they pulled her out, she was not breathing. The family called the paramedics. Once on the scene, they checked the little girl and turned to inform the family she was already gone. The paramedics even called the hospital to let them know a child had died and they were bringing her in.
The paramedic reported this amazing story. He said when he told the parents she had drowned, the father let out a blood-curdling scream. It is said the father of the child screamed, “NOOOO! Devil you cannot have my child, I am a tither, God will rebuke you this day for my sake!”
The paramedic said when the father screamed, the child’s body bounced up. She woke up and ask them to turn off the pool. She was alive. She was fine. Even though they thoroughly checked her out at the hospital, she had no negative effects of the drowning.
Malachi 3:10-11 says; Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field, says the Lord of hosts;
The blessings of a faithful tither are many.
God will prove Himself to you as a faithful God. He will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing you cannot contain. And, as in this awesome testimony, He will rebuke the devourer for your sake. He will not allow him to destroy your fruit. That day, that little girl was the fathers fruit and he was refusing to allow it to be destroyed. And he had a Biblical right to do that.
We all have fruit. Our fruit may be from our jobs or careers. Our fruit may be our children. Our fruit may be our own business. Our fruit may be from seeds sown in the natural. Whatever your fruit may be, God will not allow the enemy to destroy it…if you know your rights. Thank God the father knew his rights that day.
I remembered when I learned the end result of a prayer I had been praying for one of our partners throughout the year.
This partner had a large amount of debt. So large, in the natural, there was no way it could be paid off in one year. Yet, he and his wife sowed a seed toward paying off that debt in one year and their prayer was it would be paid off by December 31.
Throughout the year, I would keep their letter before me, praying over it and standing in agreement with them. Ever so often I would check with them and see how it was going. When I read his letter today that they had indeed paid off all debt by year’s end, I was rejoicing with them. God is indeed faithful. This partner was faithful in their tithe. They even went beyond that and sowed a seed toward that debt. God met their faith and did exactly what they asked.
What God did for them, He will do for you. He wants to do it for you. He wants to do this for all of us, the first step is to be faithful to GOD in our finances. To give God want belongs to Him. To do as the word says and give as He leads us to give.
It is my prayer we will all be faithful to God in our finances this year. It is my prayer for all of us that we have a year overflowing with the blessings of God. That the blessings of God will come in such abundance that it will be as the word says…we won’t have enough room for it. And that He will rebuke the devourer for our sake, preserving our fruit. My expectation is in God and His word. My faith is in His faithfulness. It is, after all, what He declares to be the blessing of a faithful tither.
