My heart is steadfast O God! My heart is steadfast.

This awesome scripture is found in Psalm 57. I have read it many times in my life, frankly, I have meditated on it often when I walk through challenging times. Today, I found myself, once again, reading it in the Amplified Bible.

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to You! Awake, my glory! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise and give thanks to You, O Lord, among the people; I will sing praises to You among the nations. For Your faithfulness and lovingkindness are great, reaching to the heavens, and Your truth to the clouds. Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory and majesty be over all the earth.

Five words jumped out at me. I WILL AWAKEN THE DAWN.

As I read these words, the Lord began to speak to me and say to me, “if you want out of this dark place, awaken the dawn.”

The word dawn is defined as the first appearance of light and the beginning of a new day.

Have you ever heard the statement, the light at the end of the tunnel? I think we all have and many times we find ourselves looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. Yet this scripture is saying we bring the light – we awaken the dawn.

How do we do that? Well, this scripture tells us just how to do that.

In the Passion Translation we find the answer…

My heart, O God, is quiet and confident. Now I can sing with passion Your wonderful praises! Awake, O my soul, with the music of His splendor-song! Arise my soul and sing His praises! My worship will awaken the dawn, greeting the daybreak with my songs of light! Wherever I go I will thank You. Among all the nations they will hear my praise songs to You. Your love is so extravagant, it reaches to the heavens! Your faithfulness so astonishing, it stretches to the sky! Lord God, be exalted as You soar throughout the heavens. May Your shining glory be shown in the skies! Let it be seen high above all the earth! Psalm 57:7-11

MY WORSHIP WILL AWAKEN THE DAWN! Our worship awakens the dawn.

My worship will awaken the dawn. As I read these words, I began to search the Word of God to find a scripture where worship is connected to light. I was not disappointed, God led me to exactly what I was searching for.

Psalm 89:15 says, “Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of Your presence Lord.”

When we worship God, His presence comes, every single time. When His presence comes, we are IN THE LIGHT of His presence. Jesus is THE Light and worshipping Him brings forth the light. This is how WE can awaken the dawn, through worship.

When David wrote this Psalm, he was in a very dark place. He had enemies on every and they were determined to kill him. From this place of darkness, David cried out to God and declared, “I will awaken the dawn, I will worship You until the light comes. I don’t care how dark things appear; I will bring forth the light by bringing forth Your presence through worship.”

I don’t know about you today, but this is the word I needed to hear. This is the instruction I needed for this hour. I needed to see the light at the end of the tunnel today and I needed to know how to get to that light.

Now I see. I bring that light to me through worship. I will awaken the dawn. My worship will awaken the dawn. As I worship God, a new day will dawn, and the first appearance of light will come forth.

Today, if you find yourself in a dark place, remember there is light in His presence, you need only to awaken the dawn and bring forth that much needed light. He is your light at the end of the tunnel. Allow YOUR worship to awaken the dawn and as you do, you will continue to walk in the light of His faithfulness and unfailing love.
