This morning I read the Marsha Burns word and it spoke to me.

October 12, 2021:  The earth is shrouded in darkness and death, and you must resist the temptation to dwell in that darkness. Break out of bondage and the spirit of death to be renewed in body, soul and spirit. Receive restoration and healing by seeking life in the Spirit. Leave the darkness behind and step into My light. James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (Marsha Burns)

Oh, it is true the world is shrouded in darkness and in my opinion, fear of death – but we don’t dwell there.

If we are in Jesus – we dwell in the light.  Or at least we should.

In John 8:12, Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

God is our light as we see in Psalm 18:28; For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

If we are walking with God, He will lead us out of the darkest places we face in life.  How?  Because He is our light.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Perhaps this is you today.  You may feel that darkness is surrounding you and you can’t possibly see a way out – but there is a way out – Jesus is the way.

How do we find our way out?

Although it may sound too simple – but it is through the word of God.

Psalm 119 teaches us in verse 130 that the word of God gives light.  The entrance of His word – the very beginning of planting His word in your heart will start to give light to your situation.  Once you open your heart to the doorway of His word, light begins to drive back the darkness.  Isn’t that great news?

Psalm 109:105 also says God’s word IS our light.  It will light up our pathway and cause our steps to be in the light of God.

It is true, we look out into the world and see darkness.  However, this morning as I was meditating on this a picture came to my mind.

What if we, as believers began to let our light shine?  What if we begin, as a Body to speak into the darkness and command light to come?  Would it change anything?  Yes, I do believe it would.

We are made in the image of God – who spoke into the darkness and chaos and commanded light – and light was.  Does that same God not live inside of us?

The picture that came to mind was millions of people holding a light, a candle of some sort, and the magnitude of that light was dispelling the darkness.  My friends, God has given us the power and authority to do just that.

Will you do your part this week?  Will you arise and take the word of God and speak into the darkness and declare “Light Be!” with me?

It’s time to come out of the darkness and come into the light – let’s do it! Together, let’s spread the light of Gods word and watch darkness flee.  It’s time.

Appoint My Days

I give all my cares and troubles to the Lord. I don’t hold onto them or worry and become troubled. I am fully persuaded that God will always take good care of me.  I am not friends with the world; therefore, I don’t receive what the world has to say about me or my situation. My heart is fixed on the Word of God!
