Divide & Conquer

This morning, while checking messages, I listened to one of our partners share with me that she had been emailing me to let me know she was in the hospital.  I did not receive the email.

I quickly called her and prayed with her over the phone.  As I hung up, I heard these words, “divide and conquer.”

I felt the Lord was showing me that the enemy had been trying to keep us from touching base because he knows the power in agreement.  He knows the power in prayer.  If he could keep her isolated, there would be no power of agreement in prayer.

Jesus said, “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

That is a powerful statement!  If two agree on anything, it will be done.  Of course, that anything must line up with the word of God.  And healing certainly meets that criteria.

I began to think about how the enemy will often try to isolate people when they are walking through difficult times.  He wants them to think they are all alone, with no one to stand in faith with them.  Most of the time, that is a lie.  Most of us have someone we can touch base with to pray.  If you are one of our partners, we pray for you daily and we are here to pray with you at any time.

In times of challenge, don’t allow the enemy to isolate you.  Do whatever is necessary to stay in contact with spirit-filled, faith- filled friends.  Pray often with them.  It will strengthen you.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.  For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.  But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.  Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone?  Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.  And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.  Eccl. 4:9-12

We all have times when we need someone to lift us up.  That’s just life.  And then we have times when a friend needs to be lifted up…that’s what we are there for.

I love the scripture in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, in the New Living Translation; He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

God empowers us to come through trying times, I thank God for that!  But He doesn’t stop there, that empowerment then rests upon us, and we can empower others to come through whatever challenge they may be walking through.  What an awesome God we serve.

Today, I give thanks for those friends I can call upon to pray and stand in faith with me.  I know when they agree to pray, they will pray until we see the manifestation of our prayers.  That is a wonderful gift God has put in my life…for that, I give thanks.

Don’t allow the enemy to divide and conquer in your life.  You are not alone.  Even when you think you are…Jesus is with you.  He will never leave you.  And as I have shared before, if there is no one to lay hands on you and pray for you…He will gladly do it.  If there is no one to pray with you, the Holy Spirit will gladly and powerfully pray with you.  You are not alone.

That friend, that prays with you, give them a call today and thank them for the gift they are in your life.  Bless them.  Thank God for them…for it is truly a gift…a power-filled gift.

Meditate on this:
Do two walk together, unless they have agreed?  Amos 3:3
