When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.
. Deuteronomy 8:10-11

This time we are in today will pass. It is beginning to pass even as I write this. Cities and states are opening up. Many are returning to work. Some say things are getting back to normal.

Personally, I pray I never forget the lessons I have learned about myself during this time. I have seen areas in my life that needed tweaking. Places where repentance was necessary were exposed and dealt with. Areas of pride have been revealed. In that aspect, I do not want things to go back to normal.

God has done great things for me during this time and I never want to forget that.

Deuteronomy 8:10-11 says, When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.

This verse could as easily say, “when things return to normal, as before, do not forget that it was the Lord who brought you through.”

One of my concerns is that life will go back to normal.

Many have begun seeking God more than ever during this time. Many have prayed more. The eyes of the church have been more on God than in times past. That is a good thing.

I further believe that idols in our lives have been exposed. Idols would be those things you thought you couldn’t live without but discovered, during this time, that you absolutely could live without them.

Moms and Dads spent more time at home, with family. Things slowed down. We took time to look at our lives and change things that needed to be changed.

In this sense, I don’t want things to go back to normal. And I don’t want God’s people to forget what He has taught us during this time. Remember, He is the one you looked to. He is the one who brought you through. He is the one you drew closer to during this time. Don’t forget that.

God brought us through. God kept us in peace. God was working on our behalf the entire time. And if God worked things out of you during this time, make sure those things stay gone.

Judges 8:34 says; The children of Israel did not remember the Lord their God, who had delivered them from the hands of all their enemies on every side.

Psalm 106:21 says, They forgot God their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt.

I believe we are in a time when God is bringing great deliverance, on every side. Where He is indeed doing great things. May we always remember and never forget. And may we continue to give Him all the glory.
