I love when God speaks to me through one of my grandchildren.
It is always very blunt and to the point. Never sugar coated. I had a moment just like that this weekend.
The kids were spending the night with me, we had a fun afternoon and then it was bedtime. Brailee has this thing she does, probably because she doesn’t want to go to bed. She will come in my room at least three times and kiss me on both cheeks and the top of my head, then hug me and say ‘I love you Nana! Goodnight.’
However, tonight was going to be different.
I lay down fully prepared for Brailee to begin her trips to my room. She did not disappoint.
Just before she ran in my room, I was talking to God about some things that have been happening and about one thing in particular that I had been praying about for years. I had just finished talking to God about this when Brailee ran into my room.
As always, she kissed me on each cheek, then on my forehead, then she hugged and and said ‘Good Night Nana! I love you!’ I said, ‘I love you too baby.’ She started to run back out of my door and into her room, suddenly she stopped and turned around.
She said ‘Nana, do not give up on ANY thing, not one thing.’
I sat up in bed and said ‘Brailee, why did you say that?’ She replied, ‘I don’t know.’ And then she jumped up on my bed. She took her little hands and put them out in front of her as if she was pushing something. She said, ‘you may have to push really hard.’ Then she did her little hands like she was pulling on something and said, ‘or you may have to pull really hard.’ As she jumped down off my bed, she exclaimed, ‘no matter what you have to do Nana, push really hard or pull really hard, do not give up on ANY thing, okay?’
She did not come back into my room that night, yet she left quite an impression.
I was reminded of the words spoken over Samuel in 1 Samuel 3:19. The word of God said not one of his words fell to the ground, all came to pass. Everything God had spoken to him manifested.
I was also reminded of Habakkuk 2 which says; Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Proverbs 29:18 says; where there is no vision the people perish.
One translation says where there is no vision the people let go.
We cannot let go. We must stand firm in the faith and continue to stand against all odds.
Romans 4:16-19 says; Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed–God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
Abraham believed when there was no reason to believe. He believed when natural circumstances shouted it was absolutely impossible for it to happen. When there was no way in the natural, he continued to hope. That is exactly what we have to do as well. Hope when there is nothing we can see that says it could happen. We must hope when it is against all odd and impossible.
It is then that we must remember the God who calls those things that be not as though they were, that God is OUR God and if He has said it, He will bring it to pass. There is no other option as long as we do as Brailee said and refuse to let go of any promise we have been made.
It is at that time that we must keep our heart right, our words right and continue trusting God. We serve a good and a faithful God, who will do exactly what He said He would do, you can count on it…He will not fail you. Do not let go of any thing the Lord has promised you – do not let go. It doesn’t matter how hard you have to push or pull, refuse to let go. Instead stand and see the manifestation of the Lord.
Prayer for today; Father, I thank you that that You spoke to me through Brailee, may I never forget those words and may I always stand firm and refuse to let go of anything you have spoken or promised me. In Jesus name. Amen.
