I walked into a local produce market with my daughter today. We visit weekly because they carry her farm fresh eggs.
They always have something new. Today was no different. As we walked around looking at new additions, we noticed t-shirts.
They had designed and printed t-shirts with their logo and name on them. Breanne had to have one!
As I glanced over the different designs, one caught my attention. It had wording on the back. I began to read. It said, Farmers who wait for perfect weather, never plant. If they watch every cloud, they will never harvest.
The word of God, in print! I love it!
I had not seen this particular translation before, but I loved it. This scripture is found in Eccl. 11:4.
If a farmer waits for perfect weather…he will never plant his seed.
This is so true. In the natural and in the spirit. If we wait for everything to be perfect, we will never plant seed.
I hear it all the time. Well meaning people say, “if I ever have more money I will give to God.” That’s probably not true. I am sure they mean well, but if you don’t give to God when the conditions are not perfect, you won’t give to him when they are.
Frankly, if we don’t give to God when it is hard to give, it will never ever get easier to give. It is in our giving during hard times that our faith is proven. It is in giving during hard times that brings increase. It is the word of God in action.
God gives seed to one person…the sower. He gives seed to the sower and increases the seeds we have sown. THEN…He gives us more seed! His ways are awesome! (2 Cor. 9:10)
We can’t look at the conditions. We need only obey the word of God concerning giving. As we do, He will bring the increase.
As the shirt says, if we watch every cloud, we will never harvest.
Once our seed is in the ground, we can’t look at circumstances. We must not dig our seed back up with negative words. We cannot look at what we don’t see happening. We look one place…to the word of God. His word is truth and it will not fail. It never fails.
Galatians 6:7 says; Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
We will reap what we sow, if we refuse to grow weary. (Galatians 6:9) We have God’s promise on that truth.
We simply can’t look at the clouds, we must look only to the word of God. Look to the promise of God concerning giving. Be fully persuaded that God will do what He said He would do.
I love Eccl. 11:4-6 in the Amplified…I believe it says it all.
He who watches the wind, waiting for all conditions to be perfect, will not sow seed, and he who looks at the clouds will not reap a harvest. Just as you do not know the way and path of the wind or how the bones are formed in the womb of a pregnant woman, even so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things. Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle with your hands in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening planting will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both alike will be good. Eccl. 11:4-6 Amplified
Friends, today, don’t look at the conditions…hold fast to your position in God. Your position of faith in His word. Your position of faith in what He has spoken to you. As you do, you will bring in your harvest.
