I know I have shared with those of you who have been with us for several years about the time and season that God poured out blessings on me that absolutely astounded me. It seemed to happen suddenly, therefore when people asked me what I did or what I was praying about, I simply had no answer for them.
All I knew was that God was all I had and all I needed, I spent most of my time with God and most of the time I spent with him was spent worshipping him.
A friend sent me a teaching or prophecy the other day that said our key to the release of our breakthrough in this season was worship. I don’t know about that, I haven’t prayed about it, but I do know that worship played a huge role in the season I am talking about.
I have thought about that season often and wondered if I would recognize any signs if it came back around again. I have wondered if I would recognize that place if I came near it again. Frankly, I have seen no signs that I can personally point to…until this week.
I have shared with you before how signs are important along the path to your breakthrough and it helps if you know someone who has traveled the same path as you, for often they can point out the signs. That is what happened for me this morning. I was right in front of a sign and didn’t even recognize it, at least not until it was pointed out to me.
I was listening to Bill Johnson from Bethel Church. He was preaching a message called It’s Our Seventh Day. In the midst of it he said that one of the signs that breakthrough was upon you was an increase of the presence of God. AHA! I knew this sign.
That is the most vital thing I can point to from the season I am speaking about. The presence of God in my life, at that time, continually increased. His presence became so strong in my home that people would have to sit down when they walked in. It was awesome.
This past week, the very same thing has been happening. It seems that each day the presence of God has become stronger and stronger in my life. Stronger in my personal being and stronger in my home. As I listened to Bill I realized that this was indeed a sign for me and this is a sign I recognize from before. It was very exciting to me.
Isaiah 62:11 says; Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the Daughter of Zion, Behold, your salvation comes [in the person of the Lord]; behold, His reward is with Him, and His work and recompense before Him.
This scripture is exactly what happened in my life before. The Lord came, in the person and presence of the Lord first and His reward was, indeed, with him. For me it was a great time of recompense for me.
If you are experiencing more of the presence of God this week, it’s a good sign! Before I started experiencing more of his presence I had been in a time of seeking God to show me anything and everything I needed to change or remove from my life. It had been a time of ‘God, show me any adjustments I need to make so that my life is continually pleasing to you.’ And God has been showing me things I need to change or do differently. He has been showing me what I need to stop focusing on as well as what I need to turn my attention to. As I am repenting of these things and making the changes, his presence is stronger and stronger.
Sometimes we have to make little adjustments here and there – sometimes the adjustments are in our thinking. Those are often the most difficult for me.
I had to share all this with you today to remind you that we are in exciting times….our Lord has proclaimed ‘I’m coming, My presence is coming and my reward and recompense is with me.’ What an awesome word!
One thing is for sure, the reward won’t come without his presence, without the very person of our Lord – look for that – if you are looking for anything, look for his presence…once you lay hold of his presence…he has everything else with him.
