Yesterday, I shared my thoughts about the footprints we leave behind, especially on social media.
In life I have learned, people follow us. Whether we want them to or not, they follow us. Family, children, and friends in the faith. Knowing this, I do believe it is important to make sure we are leaving Godly footprints for them to follow.
I received a text this morning from a good friend about yesterday’s writing, and it made me think a little deeper into this subject.
I realized I didn’t give good instruction for leaving a better footprint. Oh, I know, I shared what the word says, but I like practical instruction and I am sure many of you do as well.
So, what do we do if we are angry or disturbed about something and want to share it on social media?
Here would be my suggestion.
It’s perfectly fine to say, “this makes me angry”, but don’t leave it there.
As a believer, all change begins with God’s word and prayer. Therefore, after you vent your frustration, continue with, “Let’s pray and agree about this” and then add a prayer, a scripture-based prayer, for those reading your posts to join in and pray. THAT my friend is where change begins.
Don’t leave them with anger, leave them with a solution. A prayer. A portal for change.
If we do this, we are encouraging them to look to God for solutions.
We are sharing with them our belief that nothing is impossible with God and all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
And, we are replacing the anger, with a God-given answer. How awesome is that!
I know there are some really disturbing things going on in the earth today, however, I still believe God is a good God and He will turn this all for our good. As long as we keep our hearts right before Him and continue to stand on His word.
We cannot possibly maintain a pure heart and harbor anger at the same time. We must choose. Peace and anger do no co-exist. Peace and God’s word, do.
My friends, we have the answer to every problem this world faces. It is God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and the word of the Living God. Everything can be changed with His word – let’s activate that change with the footprints we leave behind each day.
Father, I ask You to forgive us of any and all negative or angry footprints we have left behind. We plead the blood of Jesus over them and ask You to remove them forever, as far as the east is from the west. We ask You to empower us, from this day forth, to leave behind GODLY footprints. Footprints of mercy, grace and love. Footprints that will please You and bring You glory. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen and So Be It.
Meditate on this:
For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
