“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 (KJV)
This scripture has captured my mind over the past few days. It is a very familiar scripture, yet so profound that I have to share this with you.
Last week I received an email from a friend…let me share a part of that email with you:
The Word was made flesh. Words of the mouth created a physical baby, a body, inside a woman who’d never been intimate with a man. WORDS created a baby inside her body. WORDS created Jesus. That is how powerful words are.
I want you to take a moment and think about that. Think about the power in the words we speak, the power in the word of God.
I know we talk about the words of our mouth quite often, but there is a purpose behind those teachings – there is great power in our words and I am trying to show you that your words are creating something.
A word spoken over Mary in Luke 1 created this baby inside her body. An act that was absolutely impossible to take place, manifested right before their eyes. Mary was a virgin, who gave birth to a son. How? Look to verse 37; for with God nothing will be impossible. Words created a living, breathing being.
Why is this so awesome? Because words can and are creating things in your life this very moment.
Words you speak over your body are creating life and healing or sickness and destruction. Words you are speaking over your finances are creating financial freedom or lack and debt. Words you are speaking over your children are creating something – what are you creating with your words today?
I don’t know about you today but I want to create good things in my life. I want to create healing and health, prosperity and wealth, good things for my family and peace in my life – to do this I have to watch the words of my mouth.
Take a moment, stop reading just a moment and think…what words do you daily speak over your family? What words do you daily speak over your dreams? What words do you daily speak over your finances, your bills? What words are you speaking over your body?
Matthew 12:37 says; “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned”. Deuteronomy 30:19 says; “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” Proverbs 18:21 says; “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Friends, from these scripture we clearly see that we choose life or death with our words. Where we are today may just be the manifestation of the fruit of our lips. That may be hard to swallow for some, but it is the truth, at least according to the word of God.
I know we walk through times of challenge, but how are we walking through them? Are we continuing to speak words of faith or are we praying one moment and speaking against everything we just prayed in the next breath? Whatever you are saying…you are creating.
I don’t mean for this to be a condemning message, not at all. Regardless of the words you have been speaking, the good news is that you have the power to create a brand new life starting now. What better time than now!
The word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Mary gave birth to the word after nine months. Imagine what would happen in your life if you carried the word for nine months? What would you give birth to if you spoke NOTHING but the word of God over your situation for nine months?
This is the question that has been going over and over in my spirit since I read my friends email – what would we give birth to if we spoke nothing but the word over our lives for nine months? What would we see manifest if we carried nothing but the word in the center of our being? What would we see come to life? What living, breathing thing would we lay hold of?
Friends, nothing is impossible with God. Today, I want you to think about this, think about the power of words, think about the creative ability you possess just below your nose. Think about how words created a living, breathing being in a seemingly impossible situation.
What would you like to see changed in a few months? Whatever it is, find scripture to speak over that situation and then determine in your heart to speak NOTHING but God’s word over it. Give birth to your dreams. Give birth to your God-given desires. Give birth to freedom from debt. Give birth to deliverance from your child. Give birth to wholeness in your body – you have the power – it is in your words….CREATE!
