There is a scripture that has been on my mind a lot this week.  It is found in 2 Corinthians 12.  I am sure you are familiar with it.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (verse 9)

The Amplified says it like this; But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

God’s grace is sufficient. His favor, loving-kindness and mercy is enough to get us through any situation or trouble.

I once read a quote that said, “You never know how strong you are, until strong is the only option you have.”

It is a quote that often reminds me of this scripture. I don’t think we can ever know this fully until we walk through a season where His grace is what we cling to.

For some, it has been a challenging season and frankly, it doesn’t seem to be letting up – some days it even appears to be worse than the day before. What do we do with that?

We do what the Amplified version of this verse says. We ask God for the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) to rest upon us – that He will pitch a tent over and dwell upon us.

His grace is enough.  I love how the Passion Bible translates this scripture…

Then he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So, I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.

God’s power does not find its full expression in good times – nor in harvest seasons.  No, the power of Jesus Christ finds its full expression when we are weak.

Verse ten in the Amplified Bible says; “So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak in human strength, then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful n divine strength).

When we endure times that cause us to feel weak in our human strength, through God, we can become strong, able and powerful in the strength of God.  That, my friend is good news.

Today, I encourage you – remember, when you are weak, He is strong.  His strength is MADE PERFECT in your weakness.  It is in that place where you feel the most vulnerable that He shows Himself strong on your behalf.  If you press into Him.  If you allow Him to be the place you run to in those times.

His faithfulness helps us to walk through seasons we couldn’t face without Him.   To press through challenges, we thought we could not endure.  He is that faithful.  Today, I thank God for His faithfulness – that His grace truly is sufficient and in my weakness, He is my strength.

Appoint My Days

I walk in soundness of mind and divine direction, for Jesus has destroyed confusion in my life. I have the mind of Christ. I will not listen to the voice of doubt and discouragement. I hear the voice of the Good Shepherd and the voice of a stranger I will not follow.
