‘God’s nature is abundance, miracles only occur when there is lack.’ These are words I once heard Kenneth Copeland say. I was reminded of this very thing recently as I read an article by Jerry Savelle.

I was also reminded of a scripture Ronnie Burch gave me one day. She said to me ‘the Lord wants to give you a word’, and then, she proceeded to share this scripture with me. It is found in 2 Corinthians 9:8.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Cor. 9:8

I love the way the Amplified Bible says it; And God is able to make all grace, every favor and earthly blessing, come in abundance to you, so that you may always, under all circumstances, regardless of the need, have complete sufficiency in everything, being completely self-sufficient in Him, and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.

I remember when Miss Ronnie gave it to me, I thought ‘wow, what an awesome scripture!’

It didn’t take me long to discover that this promise didn’t start with ‘every earthly blessing come to me’…it started a few verses before.

Verses 6-7 says; But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So, let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

I have discovered that people who are faithful, who have a consistent lifestyle of giving are the ones who experience this awesome grace abounding and abundance…but it doesn’t happen right away.

Back then, over twenty-five years ago, I had little to give. But I gave. I always tithed and I always gave offerings. When I saw a need, I did my best to meet it. I fed the hungry. Even to this day I have young people, who are now grown adults, talk about the times I fed them when they were hungry.

When I say I had little to give, that is no exaggeration, trust me. But I had a heart to give. Just as this scripture talks about…my heart was to give and give I did.

Most people do not want to hear about the law of sowing and reaping, that matters not to God. He is the one who set it in motion and it is through Him that the law of sowing and reaping will continue. If you want to be blessed, you will sow…and you will do so with a cheerful heart. Whether we like it or not, believe it or now, this principal is here to stay.

You may find yourself in the same situation I was in years ago, with very little to give, however, God can do awesome things with little. Remember the story of the fishes and loaves? He is the same God today.

Verse 10 says; Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing.

God gives us a heart to give, then He gives us seed to sow, but He doesn’t even stop there. He MULTIPLIES our seed! What an awesome God.

How about you? Are you ready to step into all grace, every favor and earthly blessing, coming in abundance to you, so that you may always, under all circumstances, regardless of the need, have complete sufficiency in everything, being completely self-sufficient in Him, and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity. If so, begin today to sow bountifully and with a cheerful heart, and then watch what God does for you! Blessings to you…bounty to you…all sufficiency to you.

Prayer for today: Father, I thank you for a heart to give. I thank you for seed to sow. I thank YOU for blessing my seed and multiplying it today, in Jesus name. Amen.
