I imagine, upon reading the title of this writing, you were bewildered. If you look at our natural world today, the last thing that would come to mind would be rest. However, God’s ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts our thoughts. He looks ahead in time and sees what is coming and that is what He declares.
Early in 2020, God gave me this scripture.
But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence. 1 Kings 5:4
One translation says it like this; But now God has provided peace all around—no one against us, nothing at odds with us.
Does that sound like the past three years to you? Not by a long shot. Yet, I have kept this word in my heart and continue to declare it over me, my family, and our partners.
Month after month, things have continued to look worse in our world, still, I hang on to what God had said. Finally, after many months of God giving me that word about rest, I heard a confirmation of that word through a prophetic word by another minister.
The word he gave is this; “We were entering a decade of difference. This decade would start off harsh and there would be plaques like in the days of Pharaoh. BUT listen to the words I speak to you as you see it start off harsh. It SHALL come into a place of REST and of MY GOODNESS says the spirit of God.”
I was so thankful I had not heard that word before God spoke to my heart about rest. This was confirmation to what I was hearing from God. It’s true, this word appears quite different from what we are seeing in the natural world. But this word is telling us something…
This journey we are on is taking us somewhere.
Yes, it has absolutely been a decade of difference, we cannot deny that – it has been harsh, chaotic, and challenging but that will not be the end of it. I once heard someone make the statement, “Some peace only comes after war.” Perhaps this place of rest only comes after great chaos.
Even after the past few years, I firmly believe God is taking us to a place of rest on every side. It took months for me to hear confirmation of what I felt God had said, but in God’s time, I did hear that confirmation. It is established.
I don’t know about you, but I am going to begin calling forth my place of rest and of the goodness of God being poured out in my life. IT IS COMING! We must arise and call it forth. We create with the words of our mouth – God has already said it will be a time of rest – we must agree with Him and begin to declare it!
Doesn’t that excite you and give you great hope? It does me. I realize we may have a few more bumpy days, but God has spoken. He is taking us to a place of rest. He is pouring out His goodness. We only need to keep walking and standing on His Word.
Today, I want to leave you with a prayer of decree to speak over you and your family.
Father, I thank You for Your word concerning me and my family. I decree, me and my entire household are entering into YOUR REST. I decree, even this day, the goodness of God is being poured out in our lives. We come into agreement with Your word. We receive it as ours. We take it now. And we give You praise for it. In Jesus name. Amen.
