Over the past several days I have seen something that should be disturbing to everyone who is born again and filled with God.
First, I was watching an online convention of a well-known minister when he asked the people to stand who were battling sickness or disease. Over ninety percent of the people in that place, a place filled with spirit-filled Christians, stood up.
The following day I was watching a morning prayer channel when I noticed that almost every prayer request was concerning sickness and disease.
Everyone calling their prayer line needed healing. This is NOT God’s will for His people.
The Bible says…
God sent His Word and healed us.
By the stripes of Jesus we are healed.
Healing ALREADY belongs to us.
With all this being true, how then is everyone around us or even we, ourselves, battling sickness? I believe this one scripture can give us great insight into that question.
Ephesians 1:17-19 in the Amplified Bible says, “[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), and [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, “
Verse 18-19 in the Passion Translation reads like this: I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling —that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones! I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm!
I am not certain we all realize what Jesus did for us at the cross! What was purchased and paid in full when He died and rose again. Our healing was completed at the cross. The resurrection power of Jesus Christ is IN US. The KINGDOM OF GOD is in us. It is not far off – it is within us. We need the eyes of our understanding opened so we can see this truth. Furthermore, we must learn how to release and appropriate everything that is already ours.
I love how the Passion Translation says these verses, “I pray the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling —that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances.”
What do you imagine? Can you imagine yourself whole with NO sickness and NO disease? Many people have trouble imagining things that are good, lovely and of a good report. Why? I believe life and hard seasons we walk through impede us from being able to imagine all the immeasurable wonderful things God has for us. So, what do we do? We must ask God to cleanse our imagination, so we are once again able to imagine all the things that belong to us through the cross of Christ.
Beyond that, we must daily, daily, renew our minds to the Word of God. We cannot fill our lives and our minds with worldly things and expect to walk in all God has for us. What we fill ourselves with is what will be created around us – therefore, let’s fill ourselves with God and create a ZOE life of God around us.
My friends, my prayer for you today is that God’s light will shine on your imagination, illuminating in you all that was purchased for you at the cross.
That you will fully know what belongs to you, what is IN you and what you have access to. That you would be able to imagine the good life God has given you. That you would know the immeasurable power that is already at work in you and that you would know how to appropriate that power by releasing healing and wholeness for you and your family. That you would be flooded with light and revelation today. That is my hope and prayer for you.
May you walk in all Jesus died to give you this year – including supernatural healing and wholeness. May it be so, in Jesus’ name.
