law-and-grace2I was listening to a preacher the other day tell about a visitation he had from Jesus. He described a tremendous visitation with the Lord about the destiny God had for him and what he would accomplish in his life. Although it was an awesome visitation that is not what captured my heart.

He said as Jesus finished telling him his destiny, what He had destined for this man and turned to walk away, he turned back to the man and said ‘history will tell if you believe Me.’
Oh wow! God has a plan for us, each of us and most of us know it in our heart, but only history will tell if we believe it or not.

Most people think that if God has a plan and a destiny for you then it will come to pass no matter what, that we have no part to play in it but that is simply not true. Jesus, Himself, told this man ‘history will tell if you believe what I have for you.’ What did he mean by that? Jesus knew if this man believed what he was hearing, it would come to pass – as I said yesterday, something on the inside of you will create it.

It reminds me of something that happened when Bryson was four, he is now ten. One day, Bryson and his Mom came to my house, Bryson and I were talking and he asked me a question and I answered him, he was only four, our conversations were usually about dinosaurs or Thomas the Train. However, this day was different. He stopped and had a funny look on his face and then he said something that captured my attention; he said ‘it’s good to imagine, if you imagine something and then keep it in your mind and think about it for a long time…that thing you imagine… you will do.’ Oh my! How God spoke to me through that little boy.

You see, I too had been asking God about my destiny and this little man was giving me instruction straight from God. If you imagine something and then keep it in your mind, thinking about it for a long time…that thing you imagined…you will do. Those words so line up with God’s word.
We do have a part to play in our destiny. God has a good plan for us, Jeremiah 29:11 says ‘I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.’

That is God’s plan for us; however, not all of us will walk in that plan. We first have to believe it, receive it and then imagine it until we walk in it.

It’s different for those who believe…it always has been and it always will be. In the Old Testament, twelve spies went into the Promised Land to see if they thought they could possess the land God said was theirs, two believed, ten did not. Two entered into the Promised Land, ten did not.

John 20:29 says blessed are those who believed and have not seen. John 1:12 says authority and power and privilege has been given to one group of people, those who believe.

God has a good plan for you. He has an awesome destiny for you. Romans 11:12 says your destiny was appointed and foreknown before you were born, however whether you walk in that destiny or not is not entirely up to God – it is up to you as well…you must first believe.

Only history will declare what we have believed of the Lord…what will history say of you?
