In Nehemiah 13, Nehemiah said ‘for the first fruits, remember us O God.’ It reminds me of the scripture in the New Testament where Jesus told Cornelius that his prayers and his alms had come up as a memorial before Him. His prayers alone didn’t do it, but his prayers along with his alms came up as a memorial before God. What does that mean? It means it caused God to remember Him. Any time in the Bible where we read that God remembered someone, just after He remember them, great deliverance came.
