Each time I venture out these days, I can’t help but think of atmospheres.
The world around me is unlike anything I have experienced before. There is fear, anxiety, and chaos in the atmosphere. It should not be so.
I have shared with you before about a trip I once made to the City of Faith in Tulsa, Oklahoma. That too was unlike anything I had experienced before.
When I stepped out of my vehicle upon my arrival, I felt tangible faith. It was in the very atmosphere. It changed me. It altered the way I saw things.
I knew, at that moment, atmospheres could be changed with faith and the word of God. Even atmospheres of cities.
I don’t know about you, but I want this current atmosphere of fear and chaos to change. Furthermore, I know we have the power and authority to change it.
In Genesis 1:3, the word of God says, Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
When studying this scripture, I found the word, light, means;
Light of life.
Light of prosperity.
Light of instruction.
Light of Jehovah.
I think we can all agree, the world looks dark right now. However, even as bad as it looks, I doubt it looks as dark as it did to God in Genesis 1:3.
Yet, even then, what God spoke came to be. He declared, “Light be.” And light was.
We have been given that same power and authority. We, too, can speak into the darkness and command light. Command life. Command prosperity and instruction. Command the light of Jehovah Himself to shine upon our nation. We can and must do that.
A friend of mine, Karen Hardin, recently shared something with me that she has been doing. After hearing her share it the third time, it finally dawned on me that it must be something God wanted me to do as well.
Karen told me that she had been reading the word of God out loud each day. Not only out loud, but outside. Knowing as the word of God is released into the atmosphere, things will change. The atmosphere will change, just as they did for God in Genesis 1:3.
A couple days ago, I began to follow her example. Bible in hand, I head to my porch. I read the word of God into the atmosphere. Out loud. Once I am done, I pray for a few moments. Asking God to allow the words we are speaking out loud and outside to change the atmosphere. To drive out the fear, anxiety, and chaos. To release peace and His light in our nation.
This morning after I finished speaking the word of God into the atmosphere I began to think. What if all of us did this daily? What kind of impact would that make? Would be begin to see the same magnitude of light that God saw that day? Would we begin to see a new beginning? A God-filled, anointed beginning?
There is great power in declaring the word of God. There is dynamic power in agreement.
Today, I invite you to join Karen and I in this endeavor. Take a few moments, read the word of God out loud, and outside. It doesn’t matter what you read, Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms. All of the word of God is powerful – just read!
Personally, I began in Psalms. I don’t really know why. But I do know this, it is empowering me.
When we don’t know what to do. This is something we can all do. Only God knows the lasting impact this will create.
Won’t you join us as we speak into the darkness…calling the light of God forth.
Meditate on this:
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5
