Destruction and famine are no laughing matter to most people. However, God sees things a different way, from a different perspective.
I was talking with a friend recently on the phone. I could hear the weariness in her voice as we began talking.

I inquired about her day and she began to tell me about a visit she had with a difficult person that day. She then said something that jumped in my spirit. She said, ‘through it, the only thing that brought any relief was when I would laugh.’

My mind immediately went to scripture. And to a song we used to sing.

The song said, ‘at destruction and famine I will laugh.’ Which, of course is scriptural.

Job 5:22 says; You shall laugh at destruction and famine, and you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

As I said earlier, most people do not find famine or destruction laughable. Who laughs at destruction? Who laughs at lack? God does.
Let’s look at another scripture about God perspective on laughing.

Psalm 37:12-13; The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord laughs at him, for He sees that his day is coming.
This, my friend, is why God laughs at such things. He can see the outcome, He sees the day of the wicked and He says the days of the righteous.
For us, who walk with Him, our future is bright.

Jeremiah 29:11 says; For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

All throughout the Bible we see God’s plan for our end in the lives of Abraham, Joseph and David. Even though the enemy attempted to destroy and stop their destiny, everything God promised them came to pass just as God said it would.

The same promise applies to us. As we continue to walk with God, ALL His promises will come to pass in our life. All of them. Not one word He has spoken to you will fail. All shall come to pass. He is a faithful God and He watches over His word to perform it, of that you can be assured.
Isaiah 54:17 says; No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

When destruction tries to come your way or when you feel you are in the middle of a season of famine, rest in His word. He has said NO weapon formed against you shall prosper. He has said EVERY tongue that rises against you shall be shown to be in the wrong. This is YOUR heritage. And you can trust every word He has spoken to you.

I was listening to a minister this morning and He said, ‘the evidence of what you are believing is found in your rest.’ In other words, if you believe what God has promised you will be able to rest in His promise and cease struggling to believe. Are you at rest today? If you are not in rest, you are not in faith.

Faith…the God kind of faith produces rest. May you enter into His rest today.

You can start by laughing at the devil. Laugh at destruction and famine. Laugh at the weapons formed against you. Laugh, like your God laughs. How can you do that? Because, like God, you know the outcome. You know you are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. That’s how you can laugh today…so go ahead…LAUGH!

Prayer for Today: Father, I ask you to allow JOY and LAUGHTER to arise in each person reading this today. May they laugh at the devil and destruction and famine from this day forward. Fill them with joy and laughter Father, this I ask in Jesus name. Amen.
