I can hardly believe the things I am hearing some Christians say in the past few days. Truly, I am astounded how quickly we can forget what the word of God says.
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Mark 11:23-24 says, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
I don’t know about you – but I do NOT want to eat the fruit of some of the things I am hearing. For that reason, I will not speak anything I do not want to see happen.
We must remember, especially during times of pressure, what the word of God says. It is most important during these times that we say only what we want to see. Only what the word of God says.
In Genesis 1, the Bible says, “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”’
God did not look out into the darkness and declare what He saw. No! He declared what He wanted to see.
Romans 4:17 says, “God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.”
As you see, I can give you scripture after scripture of what God does when He sees darkness or when He sees things appearing not the way He desires them to be. WE MUST DO THE SAME THING.
We must call things that be not as though they already were. This truth is more important now than ever.
If you have been speaking out of fear or disappointment, please stop and consider your words. Know you will eat the fruit of those words. Change them to what you want to see. Remember, we have what we say – give God words filled with faith to work with.
It must begin with what we set our mind and thoughts upon. Whatever we put in our heart will come out our mouth.
Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Perhaps what we are thinking or meditating on is our problem. I have said it many times in the last year, but I must remind you. If you spend all your time listening to news or social media, nothing good will come out of your mouth because nothing good is going in.
We are not a people who declare what we do not want to see. We ARE a people who follow the word of God, regardless of circumstances. We say what HE says. We call things that be not as though they were. We know we have what we say – therefore – we are careful with our words.
May we arise today and declare into the atmosphere, “Light BE!” May we shout “SHALOM, PEACE” over our nation. May our words be only the words of God from this day forth. In doing so, we will have what we say. Of that I am fully persuaded.
Meditate on this…
There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18
