I want to share a story with you and share what God revealed to me through it.
There is a person I have been praying with who has been enduring and battling the enemy’s attacks for several weeks now.
As I prayed over the weeks, at one point, God showed me something. I was crying out, ‘God, I am praying, they are praying and there doesn’t seem to be any relief frankly in some ways it looks worse.’
He showed me a picture of the enemy literally hemming this person in, so that the area they could move in was getting smaller and smaller. This made me mad.
With increased force, I began to come against the devil and push him back.
I believe today that many of us go through times like this, where we feel as if the devil is hemming us in and trapping us in a small space. This often happens when we take one hit after another, after another. The time may even come when we begin to lose hope and feel there is no way out.
The Bible says in Proverbs 13, unrelenting disappointment makes the heart sick. This type of heart-sick comes when we face attack after attack or disappointment after disappointment. But thank God, the story doesn’t end there. The Bible goes on to say, but when the desire comes, it is the tree of life. The tree of life represents provision, supply, nourishment…whatever you have need of.
You see, the Bible doesn’t say ‘and God will heal you of your disappointment, although He can, no, it says BUT WHEN….’ I want to remind you today that there is a BUT WHEN the desire comes in your life.
As I pondered on this today, the Lord took me to a scripture in Exodus 23:30-31 which says; Little by little will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and you inherit the land. And I will set your bounds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the River. For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand and you shall drive them out before you.
Oh, this excites me!!
Don’t become discouraged if you don’t see deliverance right away. God will drive them out little by little. YOU will drive them out little by little and then God will set boundaries around you! Boundaries of increase! He will stretch out your tent pegs and expand your borders…. that, my friend is great news!
I know it can become discouraging when you are the one in the midst of the battle. However, don’t give up! Keep fighting with the word of God, with praying in the Spirit, with declaring God’s word, with prayer, with praise and worship. Keep pushing back. Don’t stop. Don’t give up. Little by little you will run the enemy off your territory, just as God has promised. Keep pushing! With every little step know that you are stepping into freedom. Praise the Lord!!!
Prayer for Today: Father, I thank you that we are a people who do not give up. We push every enemy off our land, our family, our territory and our ministry. Thank you for empowering us to do just that. For this, we give you praise in Jesus name. Amen.
