The Many Benefits of the Word

Did you know there are many wonderful benefits in the word of God? I think sometimes we forget the power that lies within the word of God.

Personally, I have read the word of God for many years but I still discover new things in the word almost every week.

I was thinking of this the other day when I received an email request for prayer in the area of healing.

You see, I realized the problem could be in the nerve, and as I realized that I remembered a scripture I heard someone speak about recently about the nerves being healed.

I was actually listening to a teaching about tithing when this man read a scripture and said part of our benefits of tithing was healing and specifically the nerves in our body. This caught my attention because I have had issues in the past with a nerve in my foot.

The scripture is found in Proverbs 3, in the Amplified version of the Bible. Allow me to share it with you today:

My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of life worth living, and tranquility and prosperity the wholeness of life’s blessings they will add to you. Do not let mercy and kindness and truth leave you instead let these qualities define you; Bind them securely around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth removing obstacles that block your way. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord with reverent awe and obedience and turn entirely away from evil. It will be health to your body your marrow, your nerves, your sinews, your muscles—all your inner parts and refreshment physical well-being to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your crops income; then your barns will be abundantly filled and your vats will overflow with new wine.

This chapter is filled with awesome benefits from the word of God, including healing for your bones, marrow, nerves, muscles and all your inner parts, as well as a physical refreshment.

I know many people today who suffer with things in their bones, nerves, muscles and who could really use a physical refreshment…we can have that through the word of God.

If you need healing in any part of your body, I believe this is a wonderful chapter to pray over yourself.

If you will notice, God first gives us instruction in this chapter; do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments. And… Do not let mercy and kindness and truth leave you instead let these qualities define you; Bind them securely around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.

Here is what I see…if I keep the word of God in my heart and coming out of my mouth, if I walk in mercy and kindness and truth, if I bind the word of God around me…then these benefits belong to me.

What benefits?

Favor & high esteem with God and man. Health to my body. Physical refreshment. Length of day. Years’ worth living. Tranquility. Prosperity. Wholeness of life’s blessings.

That’s not all of the great benefits in this scripture and it’s not all of the instruction, I just wanted you to enjoy a small taste of the wonderful benefits of the word of God.

Today, if you need healing or direction or simply a refreshment, get your bible out and study this chapter and declare these awesome benefits that are available to you as you keep the word of God and the God of the word first place in your life.

Prayer for Today: Father, I thank you for your word, may it be continually in my heart and in my mouth. May I always acknowledge you and your word, at all times and in all situations. Thank you for the wonderful benefits of the word of God, I receive them all by faith now, in Jesus name. Amen.
