I was walking down the hallway on Saturday night and I heard the Lord say ‘have you done the last thing I told you to do?’ A couple things came to mind and I thought ‘okay I had better get on those things.’
As I set about to accomplish those things I was reminded me of a story I once read by Kenneth Copeland, he was talking about a time when his finances were in lack. He sought the Lord diligently and God said ‘do the last thing I told you to do.’ His delaying in obeying what God had said apparently either opened the door to lack or allowed a hindrance in his flow of finances; either way his failure to quickly obey was affecting his finances. Of course, he did what God was speaking of and the flow came back into his finances and lack was removed.
I read that article years ago and I have not heard anyone else teach anything similar to it since that one article, yet I am reminded of it often.
A few hours after hearing God ask me if I had done the last thing he told me to do, I was online and went to a website I often look at. I was totally surprised to see this prophetic word. Let me share it with you:
Beloved, there are no guarantees in life, save what I plan for you.
I have planned good things for your life. But there is also the responsibility you have for carrying out My instructions. If you want to keep receiving what I have for you, you must LISTEN, and do.
Listen and DO. When you do what you hear in your ear, then I give you more. But I have to see that you will walk in faith and obedience.
As you obey, you will receive more. Obedience is better than sacrifice I said.
I guarantee heaven, but things here are constantly changing with constant challenges from the enemy and the world. So keep on in FAITH trusting I can and WILL do what I have said. But also follow through with the last thing I told you to do, so that all else moves ahead. I am waiting for some to catch up. I am PATIENT with the weak and broken. I’m not pushing and pushing and pushing and causing you to strive. My yoke is EASY and my burden is LIGHT. You must learn this, so you can easily lean on ME, and not allow yourself undue stress. Oh my goodness! God has my attention. 1 Samuel 15:22 says; “And Samuel said , Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
God is looking for us to obey and obey quickly. I have a ton of excuses why I haven’t done what he told me to do. Life has been extremely busy lately. Besides that I have been trying to get in extra time in study and praying for our partners. I have legitimate reasons but they are only excuses. I should have and could have taken the time to obey instead of putting it off.
The prophetic word said ‘do the last thing I told you so that things can move forward.’ I am stopping things from moving forward, not God.
Now, this word may be for you, or it may not. If it is…do the last thing God told you to do and do it quickly. It may be small – it may be huge – whatever it is do it so things can move forward. I can tell you that the enemy will make sure you have thing after thing thrown in your path to get you to delay being obedient, it’s not that you don’t intend to obey, you are just waiting on the right time or any free time at all. Don’t delay another day, do it now. Do it now.
