I was reading a book by Chuck Pierce over the weekend on the feasts of the Lord. I came across a series of sentences that caught my attention. They said… The battle against Passover is nothing new. Satan always tries to steal away Passover because he knows the celebration of the blood releases power!

As you know, Passover has been on my mind this week – as we prepare our hearts to observe this season in God.

A few moments later I heard a ding on my phone telling me I had a text. I reached over and checked my phone to find a text from a partner. She said she was praying for me today and two songs had come to mind to share with me…the first one was Blood Bought Church. At this point I knew God was speaking to me. The blood and its power have been on my mind for days.

I began to think about the time when I was first born again. It was more than thirty years ago. Back then I was constantly hearing teachings on the blood of Jesus. Everyone around me, it seemed, was teaching, or writing books on the power of the blood of Jesus. I don’t know why, but I don’t hear many teachings like that anymore. However, the power of the blood is still the same today as it was back then.

To this day when I pray for my family or myself, I always cover them in the blood of Jesus. I know there is power in HIS blood for me.

Think about it, even before Jesus came to earth, there was a GOD-declared power in the blood of a sacrifice. Let’s think about the children of Israel for a moment, they were saved from disease, death, and destruction, by the power of the blood that night. The night all the first-born died in Pharaoh’s house, God’s people were delivered and kept safe by placing the blood on their homes. If that blood was that powerful, imagine the power in the blood of the Lamb that was shed for us!

Let’s look at what happened that night. First, the blood had to be shed. Hebrews chapter 9 tells us clearly that this is exactly what Jesus did for us, He shed His blood for us.

Next, the blood had to be applied. Romans 3 tells us that we can have faith in that blood and therefore can apply it to our daily lives, our family, our finances. Whatever we need covered, we can apply the blood of Jesus and it is covered. We are redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus! 1 Peter 1:19 says so!

It is the blood of the New Covenant, the eternal covenant, according to the book of Hebrews.

Let me remind you today of just some of the benefits of the blood of Jesus in your life…

It remits sins (Matt. 26:28). It gives life to those who consume it (John 6:53). It is how Jesus becomes our atonement through faith (Rom. 3:25). It justifies us and saves us from wrath (Rom. 5:9). It redeems us (Eph. 1:7; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; Rev. 5:9). It grants us the forgiveness of sins (Col. 1:14). It brings peace and reconciliation to God (Col. 1:20). It has obtained eternal redemption for us (Heb. 9:12). It cleanses our conscience from dead works to serve the living God (Heb. 9:14). It is how we enter the most holy place with boldness (Heb. 10:19). It sanctifies us (Heb. 13:12). It is how Jesus washes us (Rev. 1:5; 7:14). And, it is how we overcome the accuser of the brethren (Rev. 12:11).

That’s only a small part of the wonderful, awesome power of the blood of Jesus. My question to you today is this? Do you apply the blood of Jesus to your family daily? If not, begin today, especially concerning your children. Do you apply the blood of Jesus to your ministry? To your business? To your checkbook and finances? If not, begin today. There is power in the blood of Jesus and as the song said, ‘it will NEVER lose its power, never.’

I want to leave you today with some words of power. There is power, power, wonder-working power, in the blood of the Lamb, there is power, power, wonder-working power, in the precious blood of the Lamb!!!

Prayer for today: Today God, I thank you, for the shed blood of Jesus and for its power in my life. Thank you, JESUS, for shedding your blood for me and thank you that your blood NEVER loses its power over me, my family and in my life! Amen.
