This morning as I picked up my Bible, I thought of the many wonderful benefits in the word of God.

I think sometimes we forget the power that lies within the word of God. Or perhaps we simply begin to take it for granted. Yet, after more than twenty-five years, I continue to discover new truths in the word of God. How can that be?

Because the word of God is alive and filled with power! (Hebrews 4:12)

The word of God is always active.

I remember one day, not too long ago, I was praying for a partner. They needed healing. Specifically, in the nerves of their body. As I prayed, I remembered a verse in the word of God concerning our nerves.

I even remember when I first heard this scripture quoted in this way. I was listening to a minister preach on tithing. Yes, tithing. He stated that healing of the nerves was part of the benefits of tithing.

I immediately came to attention. I had never heard this before. I was, at the time, standing in faith for healing in my foot. I was battling an issue that was within the nerve of my foot. This could be my answer!

The scripture is found in Proverbs 3, in the Amplified Bible. Allow me to share it with you today;
My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of life worth living, and tranquility and prosperity the wholeness of life’s blessings they will add to you. Do not let mercy and kindness and truth leave you instead let these qualities define you; Bind them securely around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own Insights or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth removing obstacles that block your way. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord with reverent awe and obedience and turn entirely away from evil. It will be health to your body your marrow, your nerves, your sinews, your muscles—all your inner parts and refreshment, physical well-being to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your crops income; then your barns will be abundantly filled and your vats will overflow with new wine.

Isn’t that an awesome promise! Healing to our marrow, our sinews, our muscles, and our nerves! The promise continues with all our inner parts. Refreshment and physical well-being to our bones! I love it!

This is yet another wonderful scripture we should be declaring over ourselves and our family each day, don’t you think?

I know many people today who could use a manifestation of healing and refreshment in their bones, nerves, and muscles. Who could really use a physical refreshment. We have that promise through the word of God.

God first gives us instruction in this section of verses.

Do not forget My teaching, but let your heart keep My commandments. Do not let mercy and kindness and truth leave you instead let these qualities define you; Bind them securely around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.

If we keep the word of God in our heart and coming out of our mouth. If we choose to walk in mercy and kindness and truth. If we bind the word of God around us. Then these benefits belong to us.

What benefits?

Favor and high esteem with God and man. Health to our body. Physical refreshment. Length of day. Years’ worth living. Tranquility. Prosperity. Wholeness of life’s blessings.

Of course, this is not all of the benefits of our covenant with God. You will find many more in the word of God. I just wanted you to enjoy a small taste of the wonderful benefits of the word of God.

Today, if you need healing or direction or simply a refreshment, get your bible out and study this chapter. Declare these awesome benefits over your life. Keep the word of God and the God of the word first place in your life. As you do, you will find, there is great power in the word of God. And it will produce great things in your life. It is active. Activate it in your life today!
