How many of us have been waiting on prayers to be answered? How many are waiting on breakthrough in our finances or relationships? I imagine that the answer to those questions would be a great deal of us. Here’s another question; how many of us are prepared to receive it, right now?

At one time, the Lord began to give me dreams to show me the importance of being prepared for what He has for us. I have learned over the years to take these dreams seriously and heed them, for many times they are warnings from the Lord. The Lord recently reminded me of some of those dreams; I want to share them with you today.

In the first dream, I was at work, working with my assistant and people began coming into my office. These were all people who were very well-known in ministry and television. It was a huge blessing to have these people come and be a part of what we were doing, but I wasn’t properly dressed to meet with them, nor was I prepared to serve them food. I had on jeans and a t-shirt. I had to go home, shower and change and go back. By the time I got back, they were gone.

God showed me through this dream that I wasn’t prepared for what He had for me and I needed to tweak some things and get myself prepared.

Therefore, I heeded Gods warning and prepared myself in ways He showed me. At work, for the next few days, my staff and I worked on preparing for God to work among us. We were getting everything ready and in its place.

A few days later, I had another dream. In this dream, I was asked to be interviewed on television. I went to the interview room. While I was waiting on the interviewer, I realized I didn’t have everything I needed for the interview, so I ran around for a long time trying to get what I needed, just when I realized I really didn’t need it, that I could just send it to them after the interview, someone called me and told me it was too late to do the show. Maybe next time, they said.

Again, God showed me what it meant, I was not prepared. Hence, this motivation.

Are you prepared for what God has for you? Are you prepared physically, mentally and spiritually?

Let me ask you this; if someone told you they were buying you a car and you didn’t have a driver’s license, what would you do? Get a license, of course! You would be prepared so that when your car arrived, you would be ready to drive it.

Prepared means to make all things ready. I like that, make all things ready. For me, personally, to make all things ready meant I not only needed to get things in order in ministry and home, but I also needed to make sure my mind was prepared for what God was showing me was coming down my path.

Which goes along with one definition I found for prepare, it said prepare means to make ready your mind to receive and secure the blessings of the Messiah. You see the Bible says, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. You must be ready in your mind to be promoted or to succeed or even to have a tremendous amount of blessing poured out on you.

Are you ready? If your blessings come this moment, are you ready? Are there things in your life that you need to tweak to prepare for the blessing to be poured out on you?

Are you asking God for a mate? If so, are you physically ready to meet that person? Are you financially ready, how about spiritually ready?

Are you asking God for a car? Have you looked around and found the one you wanted? Have you checked on insurance for that make and model?

Are you believing God to get you out of debt? Do you know exactly how much your debt is? Do you have the names and addresses of your debtors ready and waiting to send that final check?

Are you believing God to heal your marriage? Have you prepared yourself to handle that? Are you ready to make whatever changes necessary to have a great marriage?

Mostly, is your heart ready? Have you checked your heart and made sure that there is nothing in your life that needs to be cleaned up before God can walk with you and bless you?

Remember in the Old Testament, every time God was about to come down and speak to His people, He would tell them to sanctify themselves. God wants us prepared in every way for His blessings.

I believe that we are living right now under an open heaven. That means that God is saying that the blessings of God are ready and waiting. Yet, some of His people are not prepared.

Remember the wise and foolish virgins in Matthew 25:1-11? There were 10 virgins, waiting on the bridegroom, 5 were wise and prepared, 5 were not. When the bridegroom came, the 5 foolish virgins had run out of oil, they were not prepared, and just like in my dream, they left to go buy oil and when they came back, it was too late. They did not take part of the tremendous blessing of the bridegroom.

I know we don’t like to think about it, because the God we serve is merciful, but there are times when a blessing passes us by because we are not prepared, and we find that once we get ready, it’s too late, He has already passed by. I don’t want to miss one thing that God has for me and I am so thankful that He warns me when He sees that I am unprepared. It’s time to wake up and get prepared! It’s not time to slumber.

Being prepared could be as simple as increasing your capacity to receive. Once, several years ago, I received a prophecy that God was taking me into a time of pressing in to Him, a time of fasting and prayer and that I was to prepare myself to receive all He had for me. At the time, I thought ‘that’s silly; I am ready for whatever God wants to pour on me.’

What I later learned was that the things God wanted to give me were much bigger than I was prepared to receive. I had to enlarge my capacity to receive. My faith was at level 6 and He wanted to give me level 20 blessings, so my faith had to increase to receive it. Think about it, if you are going to give your child a bicycle for Christmas, you won’t try to put it in a shirt box, will you? Of course not, you will have to get something large enough to contain it.

Faith and blessings work the same way, your capacity to receive must be large enough to receive your blessings. So, how do you enlarge your capacity to receive? Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Get in the Word of God and build up your faith, increase your faith level.

I encourage you to ask God what you need to do to prepare for what He has for you and then do it. Get prepared. Just as you would get prepared for company, prepare yourself for God to come and overwhelm you with His blessings! Do whatever it takes to make all things ready, because He desires to come and do mighty works in your life, are you ready for that?

There is a scripture that tells us to be instant (or prepared) in season and out of season. It means to be ready when the opportunity arrives, don’t let His blessings pass you by, get ready and stay ready. His eyes are going to and fro across the earth, looking for someone to show Himself strong on their behalf, let that someone be you, let Him see that you are ready, prepared and standing firm on His Word. He won’t let you down and He won’t pass you by.

Prayer for today; Father, PREPARE me today. In Jesus name. Amen.
