Tonight I watched a man trying to get up a hill in the winter storm that came our way. He had gotten up some speed so he could make it up the hill and just as he was about to top the hill, two small deer jumped out in front of him, he had to slam on his brakes and then struggled to regain his momentum.

Have you ever felt that way? You knew you had almost made it, relief was in sight and then something jumps out in front of you and stops you – or at the very least hinders your efforts.

I don’t know about you but I have had a January like that. This entire month has been one challenge after another. Nothing really bad happened but dozens of little things happened that hindered our work, our efforts and us moving forward.

Tonight when I was watching that man and the deer jumped out in front of him, I could feel his pain. I don’t know why things happen this way at times, but it does, and it always seems to me that the timing is when God is trying to get you to press in. The more you press, the more little hindrances come your way.

The Bible says it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine (Song of Solomon 2:15). I once did a word study on that particular scripture and it said those little foxes only come at one particular time…when the harvest is ripe.

As you know we have been speaking to our harvest and declaring it ripe and ready and I can almost see it must be ready by the amount of little foxes that have come around.

The thing is, the man trying to get up the hill, the deer didn’t stop him, it just slowed him down, it just made him work a little harder to get up the hill, but he still made it up. Reminds me of a scripture that tells us when we endure to the end we will receive the promise. It is found in Hebrews 10:36; Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.

I don’t know where you are today or what kind of month you have had, but if it has been a challenge I am here encourage you. Don’t let these little foxes spoil anything for you, certainly not your harvest. Do like the man in the vehicle did, press forward and move on up that hill. You may go up slipping and sliding but you will go up. We have his word on it.

I know how frustrating it is when one thing after another comes to stop you but know this; if it has come to stop you, there is a reason and there is something vital that is trying to be stopped.

The reason I started this ministry, the cry of my heart is to help others lay hold of everything that belongs to them in Christ. I see so many people quitting before they see the promise manifested and I don’t want to see that happen to any of you. I want to hear about your promises fulfilled and hear about the manifestation of your promises…that is my hearts cry.

Therefore I press on, so I can help you press on and press on we shall. We will regain our momentum, make it up that hill and arrive at our promise…every single one of us. We have a promise and I believe in his faithfulness and I know we will see our promises fulfilled, so, don’t give up. Keep pressing in and keep declaring his promises over your life – you will make it, he has promised and you will make it.
