‘A life of prayer will produce a life of promises fulfilled.’

These are the words God spoke to me one morning as I began to pray.

I have a confession to make, my prayer life has been in a rut lately. Oh, I still spend time daily with God, with the word, in worship and in prayer, but it has felt powerless and ineffective.

Life has become busy and prayer has felt like one more thing on my to-do list.

Keep in mind, this is only a feeling. Make no mistake about it, prayer is NEVER ineffective. Therefore, regardless of my feelings, I continued to press in during prayer – frankly, I am pressing in even more these days. I know there is great power in my prayers.

It is the enemy who wants us to feel our prayers are ineffective, he knows our prayers carry great power. He knows it is our prayer that open the portals of heaven. The last thing the devil wants you to do is pray. He wants you to feel your prayers are hitting a brick wall and nothing is happening. Only because he knows the opposite is true.

Despite what we may feel or not feel as we pray, God has chosen this vehicle as the one to bring heaven down to earth. It is through prayer that we partner with God to see His will and His promises fulfilled on the earth, in our lives, in the lives of our families and in our nation.

Prayer is the portal that opens the heavens over you and your life. Prayer is what brings heaven down to earth. And prayer is what stops the enemy in his tracks. With this we understand why the devil would want to discourage us in our prayer time.

Mark 11:22-24; So, Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

I meditated on this scripture for quite a while today…whatever things you ask in prayer, believe you receive them…and you will have them.

Think about that today. Whatever you ask in prayer, if you can believe it, it is yours! Isn’t that an amazing promise! How can that be?

We see the answer to that question in James 5:16; The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

There is great power available when we pray – our prayers open the heavens and bring heaven to us! The Amplified says it like this; The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much, when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power.

Oh, if we could only remember, there is tremendous power when we pray! Dynamic power is released every single time we pray.

God’s plan is for us to make an impact and He has shown us the way to do just that! It is through prayer, heartfelt and persistent prayer.

The next time the enemy tries to tell you that your prayers are ineffective, and nothing is happening…remind him that your prayer have tremendous power, they are made effective by God and they are dynamic…not only that, but YOUR prayers are bringing heaven to earth in your life and in the lives of those around you. Do NOT stop praying!

A life of prayer will produce a life of promises fulfilled. Never forget that! May your life be a life of prayer.

Prayer for today: Father, may MY life be a life of prayer. Let me never forget the power in my prayers. Open the heavens over us as we pray and bring heaven to our homes, in Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
