At the beginning of the year, the Lord continually talked to me about preparing. I shared many of those thoughts with you in my writings.
I hope you received the teachings in faith and not in fear. There is no need for us to fear. God has given us all we need to not only survive, but to thrive in the days we are in and in the days ahead. He is a faithful God and He will keep us safe in Him.
I want to share a few more verses with you today to encourage you in remaining prepared, not only for what lies ahead, but for today as well.
Proverbs 22 says3; A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished.
I am not talking about hiding in your homes and refusing to come out. No! I am talking about a different kind of hiding. I am talking about hiding in God. Allowing Him to become your hiding place.
Psalm 91 is a scripture that most of us are familiar with, one of my favorites!
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust. Surely, He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.
Don’t you just love that!
We have talked about meditating on the word of God lately, this scripture would be a great one to sit and ponder.
The word of God also teaches us that God will protect and keep those who trust in Him.
Verse 1-4, in the Amplified Bible says; He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty, whose power no foe can withstand. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust! For then He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. Then He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.
He is our Refuge, our Fortress and our God. When we dwell in God, we remain stable and fixed in Him. This is the key to thriving in God through all seasons. Remaining in Him.
When we remain in God, when we make our abode in Christ, we are safe in Him. Weapons may form, but they will not prosper.
We see this promise in again in Isaiah 54; For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you. “O you afflicted one, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, and lay your foundations with sapphires. I will make your pinnacles of rubies, your gates of crystal, and all your walls of precious stones. All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed, they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake. “Behold, I have created the blacksmith who blows the coals in the fire, who brings forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
I have given you two powerful set of scriptures. It is my hope and my prayer that you will begin to confess and declare these over yourself and your family today. In doing so, you are making sure you are prepared for today and for the days to come.
The time to build a storm shelter is before the storm comes. Not during the storm. The time is now to cover you and your family in God’s word. The time is now to get under the shadow of the Almighty. Noah built an ark at the word of the Lord, when no one had seen or heard of rain. We must build our ark and make God our dwelling place. Our hiding place. We do that with the word of God. We do that with faith in the God of the word. He is our safe place. Today and always.
Meditate on this:
But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. 2 Thess. 3:3
