I love Spring! And with Spring, comes “spring cleaning”. A time to purge and clean from all that has accumulated over the last cold winter season…..It’s also a great time to get rid of anything that would stop you from moving forward spiritually. Hebrews 12:1 teaches us to get rid of everything that would stop us or even hinder us from running the race that is set before us.

You see, as we continue to walk with God and pursue Him, there will be times when promotion comes – at first it may not even seem like promotion – it may simply seem like we have been uprooted from everything that was comfortable to us. It may seem as if everything around you has changed and if that is not bad enough – then the pruning starts. The removal of everything that would attempt to zap the life out of you.

It may be removal, or pruning of bad attitudes. It may be a pruning of old disappointments. It may be a pruning of simply coming out of your comfort zone. It can be a very uncomfortable season where it feels as if everything is being cut away – I know I have been there.

You must trust God’s faithfulness to trim and cut away and bring you to a place that you bear the most fruit possible – not only in this season but in all the seasons to come.

God loves you just the way you are – however, He loves you too much to leave you that way – He desires that we produce fruit – in every area of our lives – therefore, we must be continually or at the very least, seasonally pruned. Pruning is defined as removing anything not needed to allow more fruitful growth – it’s a good thing.

Friends, if it feels like God is pruning you during this season – take heart! It only means that you have been moved to a place to grow more and bear more fruit -allow the pruning – allow those unnecessary things to be cut away. You will find you produce more fruit now, in this season – and in all the seasons to come.

Remember, during and after the pruning – you will need lots of water of the word – lots of water of the word…keep the word coming, before you know it, you will take root in this new place and grow exceedingly and produce much fruit.
