Monday morning I received an email from Doug Addison, as I read a sentence he had highlighted, I was reminded of a dream I had a few months ago. Actually, this dream has been coming to mind for a couple weeks and his writing confirmed what I was feeling.

The highlighted part of his letter said ‘Unexpected blessings and deeper insight and revelation are coming. This is a time to pull back and not get too busy. Take time to listen and write down what God is speaking right now. Expect to hear God’s voice and to have prophetic dreams between Christmas and the New Year.’

The part that most spoke to me was ‘this is a time to pull back and not get too busy.’ We all know this time of year can become so busy that we miss the beauty and celebration of it. I believe God is warning us to not let that happen. We are on the verge of seeing a move of God unlike anything we have ever seen and God does not want us to miss it.

A few moments later I was speaking with a friend on the phone and he said he kept hearing ‘slow down.’ As we talked he made a statement. He said he was continually trying to get this done and that done so that he could spend more time with God. At that moment I had an ‘aha’ moment.

I shared with him that I had been doing the same thing. I was thinking ‘I will do this and that and get this done and then I will have more time.’ But the truth is that I never get it all done therefore I never have the ‘more time’ I am working towards. I was buying into a lie that if I hurry and get this done, I will have more time with God. When the truth is I need to stop and remember the dream He gave me months ago and make sure I am no too busy to recognize His blessing when it comes my way.

Therefore, even though you have read this before, please allow me to revisit the dream God gave me. I needed reminded, perhaps you do too, especially during this holiday season. Don’t get too busy to celebrate the true meaning of this season…stop, slow down and breathe. Here is the dream article that I want to share with you today: Be Blessed!

Just a few days ago, I awoke from a series of dreams from the Lord that impacted me greatly, but before I share those with you, let me begin with what is taking place in my family at this time. I have a nephew who is getting married in September. I have been busy helping my sister with quilts, presents and showers. When the Lord gave me these dreams a few nights ago, I could relate easily because of all the excitement around this upcoming wedding.

A Series of Dreams: Don’t Miss the Wedding!

Dream number 1: In my first dream, we were getting a church ready for a wedding. At first I was confused and said, “It’s not yet! It’s not time!” But those in charge said that it is time and we have to make ready for the wonderful celebration that was happening tomorrow. It was a magnificent sight, unlike anything I have ever seen before. We hastily prepared for the event that was taking place in the next 24 hours. When I awoke from this first dream, I was talking out loud and said, “It’s not in September, it is NOW!” I was excited in my spirit. Then I went back to sleep.

Dream number 2: Again I dreamt I was getting things ready for this big event that was taking place the next day and was preparing a table for the event. The Scripture that came to mind is found in Psalm 23:5-6, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

I began to see what God was showing me. This event, at least part of the event, was the Lord preparing a table for ME in the presence of my enemies, and He was anointing my head with oil and my cup certainly was running over. As I awoke, I declared, “He is setting a table for me in the presence of my enemies!” By this time it was around 3am and I went back to sleep and once again, I dreamt.

Dream number 3: This time it was a few hours before the wedding. My family wanted to go see a movie. I was asking them, “Why would we do that?” I was concerned that we may miss the wedding. They all said that it was fine. We went to a movie but I could not concentrate, so they finally gave in and went to the wedding site with me, because I did not want to miss it. Again, I woke up.

Dream number 4: Finally, I dreamt the final dream. In this dream we were all dressed and ready for the wedding as it was literally upon us, less than an hour away. That’s when a man knocked on my door that needed me to help them do some kind of work, and I felt obligated to complete the work. Everyone else went on ahead of me and I said that I would meet them at the wedding. However, this man kept detaining me until I finally told the person who would be riding with me to go on ahead and I would meet them there. But I didn’t meet them there… I missed the wedding!

My sister came to me afterwards and was so sad. I said, “I am so sorry.” She said, “Even if you had come at the last minute, you would have still been a part of this awesome gathering.” I woke up… and I was weeping as I woke up.

Don’t Miss Out! It Is Here NOW!

As I awoke I said to God, “I am NOT missing this. I know it is NOT coming, but IT IS HERE! I know it is here now and I will not miss it! I will not allow people, things, work or obligations to cause me to miss this awesome event that is upon me.” He began to lead me to Scripture to confirm my dreams.

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.”‘ But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business.” Matthew 22:2-5

This is the warning of the dream: Some made light of the significance of the wedding, as some went their own way and some returned to their business. In other words – God was not their priority. You may ask, “What do you feel these dreams mean?” I asked the Lord to give me Scripture for what He was showing me, and He was faithful to do just that.

We all know that there is darkness in our land; God told us in Scripture that it would be this way but He doesn’t stop there. His Word says, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in Heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:17-21).

I don’t believe the wedding was a literal wedding, but an awesome gathering to celebrate what the Lord is doing in our land. I believe it speaks of the Scripture found in Isaiah 62:11; “Indeed the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the world: “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.'”

Prepare For the Outpouring! His Reward is with Him!

I believe God is saying that we are to, “Prepare! For the Lord is coming and His reward is with Him!” I believe this reward is the abundance of glory we know is about to be poured out, and within that glory will be the transfer of wealth we have read about that will allow us to cover the world with His Word and His healing power.

I believe the wedding (the gathering) is an outpouring of God like we have never imagined. I believe it is the time of Him pouring out His glory in a glorious and magnificent way. We are invited to this event! It is a time of entering into a place in God that we have only imagined. A time where His glory is poured out on all flesh, a time where visions and dreams and miracles are common place.

I believe it is the time we read about in Isaiah 60: “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you…”

It will be a glorious wonderful celebration… if we are ready. Think about my dream. I missed the wedding. I am a person who daily seeks the face of God, His direction and His plans for my life. Yet I missed the wedding. Why? Because I was busy about other things without discerning the times we were in. Additionally, I am the one who thought my sister was in the wrong place when she was at the movies, yet she did not miss the wedding nor the table prepared for her in the presence of her enemies. So you see, all we really have to do is come when the invitation arrives.

I missed this awesome time in God because I was doing something I thought was “good and necessary”, but it was certainly not God’s plan or timing for the things that needed done. It was a distraction and was sent to cause me to miss the divine plan of God.

It is absolutely vital that we pray and discern the times and the season we are in. We must discern between what is good and what is God. We must discern where we are supposed to be and what we are supposed to be doing… according to God’s plan and make sure we are doing just that. We are in a time where the discernment of Issachar is needed. As we are careful to discern the times, we can be rest assured that it won’t pass us by. Friends, listen and hear what the Lord is saying. I could feel the seriousness of these dreams when I awoke.

The good news is… the Lord is preparing a table for us in the presence of our enemies – He is about to pour out blessings on us right in the midst of the enemy. Are you prepared? Are you dressed? Will you arrive on time or will you miss it? God is compelling us to come, He is saying, “See I have prepared it, it is ready… come!” Let nothing deter you… Come!

He is coming and His reward is with Him. I am excited about this great event and I want to be a part of His glory being poured out on this earth. He wants you to come too, come to this wonderful outpouring of His glory. It’s moments away, won’t you come?
