Have you ever fainted? I have one or two times in my life, it is not fun, you have no idea what is going on around you, you can’t do anything about it. Beyond that, it is simply uncomfortable.

Normally, before a person faints, there are some signs it is about to happen, maybe some you ignored, like light-headedness or dizziness. Maybe you missed one too many meals or stayed in the heat too long, all these can cause fainting. It’s important to pay attention to these things in the natural when it comes to fainting.

It is also important to pay attention to signs of spiritual fainting.

I see this often…fainting believers. What I have learned from this is before the time of fainting occurs, there are signs all around.

One sign is that everything around you will irritate you, your kids, your spouse, your job, even the weather. It is often a small thing that one will lose their temper over and that is a sure sign of a fainting saint.

Another sign is you may encounter is doubt. Doubt or continually doubting yourself and what you have heard from God is also a sign of fainting. You begin to second guess the way you have taken when you were once so certain God led you this way. You may begin to question the word you heard from God. You may begin to ask yourself, ‘Did God really tell me to do this, or was it me?’ This could be a sign you are dangerously close to fainting.

Finally, lack of motivation and vision are also signs that fainting may be in your future. The Bible says without a vision the people perish. You simply must maintain a fresh vision of God and what He is doing in your life. You do this by spending time with God and renewing your mind daily.
The Word of God says we are not to faint or grow weary, and there are many ways we can keep from fainting.

The Bible says our inward man is renewed day by day. (2 Cor. 4)

How do we renew our inner man? Most importantly, we renew our mind with the word of God. Spending time daily in God’s word will renew our mind and keep us from fainting.

Another way is worship. Worship causes Gods rain to come down in our life, rain refreshes our inner man. Worship opens doors to the goodness of God; in His presence is fullness of joy. Worship will refresh the weary soul.

On the natural side of things, make sure you are getting plenty of rest, physical rest and eating well, if we are going to feel good spiritually, it helps if we feel good physically, don’t you agree?

Finally, be careful of what is going into your spirit. Keep all garbage out of your spirit. Garbage comes in the form of gossip, anger, unforgiveness and many other things that we need to steer clear of. Be careful of what you are watching on television; fill your spirit with good things.

Fill your spirit with inspiring things. Fill your spirit with things of faith…before you know it, you will feel strengthened in spirit, no longer on the verge of fainting.

Remember, if we faint not, we receive the promise. Today, my friends, may we strengthen ourselves in the Lord and in His word.

Prayer for Today: Father, I thank you today for strength. Help us stay strong in you and in your word. May we never faint nor grow weary, in Jesus name. Amen.
