waterscape-07One morning I was praying for the people who had called for prayer the day before, asking God to help them hold their confidence. As I prayed I remember something God had shared with me months ago, I would like to share it with you today.

Some time ago I was praying for one of our partners and reminding God of all the prophetic words and prayers that had been spoken over him. As I did God said something to me, He said; when we have prophetic words or prayers spoken over us we often think things should change immediately and often they do, but sometimes they don’t. What happens is when that prophetic word is spoken or prayer is prayed, an anointing is imparted. That anointing, just as it says in Isaiah 10 destroys the yoke, at that very moment the anointing is present to bring you to a place of ultimate victory. Sometimes we have to walk that victory out but the anointing has already destroyed the yoke, walking it out is our part. We must stand firm on that word and war with it, as it says in 1 Timothy 1:18, we take those words, those prayers and war in the spirit until we see the fulfillment of what was spoken to us.

Yesterday we prayed for many people, and we prayed spirit led prayers, at most times there was a tangible anointing as we were praying. At that moment, if the anointing was present the yoke was destroyed. That means at that very moment, victory was imparted, everything needed to overcome whatever we were praying for was imparted and victory was ensured, their part is walking it out. The manifestation of those prayers may occur immediately or it may be a short time later, either way, victory was present as we prayed, and it is the same with you when you are prayed for or receive a prophetic word, if the anointing is there, you have what you ask. So, now what?

First of all, as the word says you must believe you receive what you have asked for. The Bible says if we believe we receive then we will have it. We also have to watch our words and make sure they line up with what we are believing God for. We must be aware that negative words will hinder the promises of God, you simply can’t pray one thing and speak another the rest of the time. Finally, we have to do what the word says and having done all …STAND.

We stand by remaining confident in what God has promised and said. Hebrews 3:14 says ‘we are made partakers of Christ if we hold our confidence steadfast to the end…to the end.’ That means we have to have the same faith at the end of the stand as we did at the beginning of the stand. That doesn’t mean you have to be perfect and never experience doubt, it means if doubt tries to come your way that you fight it off with the word of God and continue to say what God says. Jesus said ‘I only say what the Father says.’ That needs to apply to us too. We only say what God says or what the word of God says.

The word ‘confidence’ means free and fearless confidence, courage and assurance. The Bible says Abraham was fully persuaded that God would do what He said He would do, that is free and fearless confidence.

Remember how you felt when you first believed, or when you first heard that word? Hold that thought. Think on that, keep your confidence steadfast to the end…as you do, you will see the promise fulfilled. If you have a day where you feel you have no confidence at all, do as David did and encourage yourself in the Lord.

Proverbs 3:26 says ‘the Lord shall be your confidence.’ When you feel you can’t stand any longer, call on God, He will be your confidence and hold you steadfast to the end. You have received the word and you will receive the fulfillment of that word…as you stand confidently on what God has said.
