It seemed like everywhere I turned last week I was hearing or reading or watching something about strategy and contending for your promises.
Different people said it in different ways but they were all talking about the same thing, getting a plan from God for your strategy, pressing in to God for breakthrough and recovering all.
We see this in the life of David in 1 Samuel 30; And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
David and his men had been out protecting the borders of his country, doing the right thing in the sight of God and while he was busy doing this, the enemy came in and took all he had. Their first response wasn’t great – BUT – then David encouraged himself in the Lord, got a strategy from God and recovered all that belonged to him.
David’s seemingly great defeat turned for his good and became one of his greatest victories!
In this season we are in, there are many who have lost things, money, homes, relationships, children BUT it is time to do as David did and encourage yourself in the Lord, seek the Lord for a strategy and recover all that belongs to you.
You won’t recover unless you pursue. You will have to press in with all that is within you and recover what belongs to you.
The word strategy means; a plan of action designed to achieve a major or overall aim, a plan for military operations and movements during a war or battle. It is also called a master plan. I love that one – a Master Plan. That is what we need to get from God before we move forward.
Your plan, your strategy may be different from mine Abraham’s was different from David’s. Isaac’s was different from Abrahams. We must seek God for our own plan and strategy and then pursue with that plan of action in mind.
I know we are in a season where many are going to recover ALL, my greatest concern is that there will also be many spirit-filled born again believers who won’t recover all. The only reason they won’t is if they don’t get the plan of God for their life and then pursue to recover all.
We recover with the word of God, with our confession, with our prayers, with our times with God in intimate worship. We recover differently from David; however, we all have the authority and power to recover. We do it by faith. God is a God of faith and He will honor our faith in Him and in His word. If it is yours and you know it is yours and you know the enemy stole it from you – GO GET IT! Whatever IT is. It may be your peace. It may be your children. It may be your marriage. It may be your harvest. It may be your health – whatever it is – go after it and don’t stop, refuse to stop until you recover all. AMEN!
