What God has said and who we are in God. If we could ever get a grip on these two things. If we could lay hold of the things God has spoken to us about our life, our destiny; it would change everything. If we would take hold of it and refuse to let it go. If we would do as the word of God says and war with those words instead of listening to the lies of the devil, we would have the outcome God has said we would have.
And if we could lay hold of who we really are in God. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. All power and authority is given to us through Jesus. We are his workmanship, created in his very image. We are called to preach the gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out devils. If we could grasp what that really means and who we really are – the devil would run scared and never come back. The problem is that most people don’t believe who they are in Christ. They see their faults, their failures and doubt who God says they are.
Things have not changed since the days of Adam and Eve. The enemy has no new tricks. He is still using the same old tricks…getting us to doubt what God has said and who we are in Him. But we don’t have to buy into the lies. We can overcome them, Jesus did and so can we. We do it in the same way Jesus did – by telling him to get behind us and shut up. As it says in James, we submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee!
