Today, in my prayer time, I was reminded of a short dream I once had, I want to share it with you today.

In the dream, I was in bed asleep.  A little girl came into my room, she was four or five years old. She climbed up in bed beside me and with tears running down her face, she said, “Daddy lost me.”  I knew when she said it, what she really meant was her Daddy had allowed her to get lost.

I wrapped my arms around her tightly and said, “it’s okay honey, you are not lost anymore, you are found, you are safe.  You can relax now, you are safe, you don’t have to fight anymore. You can come off the defense, you are safe.  God has found you.”

The entire dream took place in one area, my bedroom.  A bedroom is established for two different things: rest and intimacy.

Isaiah 30:15 says, For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”

Jeremiah 6:16: Thus says the Lord: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it and find rest for your souls.

Now, let’s look at the scripture from Isaiah in the Amplified Bible.

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength. (Is. 30:15)

Our rest is found in one place: in Him.  In God.

Matthew 11:28-20, Jesus says to us: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Now, let’s look at this verse in the Amplified bible.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.

There is a place of rest, a place of ease.  This place is found by walking with Jesus.  Taking HIS yoke upon us.  In that place, we find rest for our souls – the parts of us that have been injured by the world.  By our parents.  By other Christians.  This place, in Christ, offers rest, blessed quiet and healing.

However, the bedroom not only denotes a place of rest, but also a place of intimacy.  It is the desire of Jesus that we become one with the Father.  That is an intimate place.  It is the same place the Bible speaks of concerning marriage in Mark 10 when it says, “the two shall become one flesh.” This is defined as a place of oneness, or a place reached or entered into. We enter this place through Jesus Christ.

In John 17:20-23 Jesus speaks of this place of oneness with God.

I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

I believe God wants to bring healing to the souls of those who were hurt, abused, and mistreated as children, or perhaps even as adults.  This healing is waiting for you in His presence.  In that place of intimacy and rest in Him.  It’s time to run up in His arms and take your healing.  Take your restoration.  Take your rest.

Exodus 33:14 says, And the Lord said, My Presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.

Everything you have need of is in His presence – won’t you enter in today?
