I want to share a story with you that happened a few years ago.  It is as relevant today as it was that day.

I had planned an out-of-town trip with a friend.  When she arrived to pick me up, it was obvious she was very upset.  After getting settled in her vehicle, I asked, “What’s wrong?” She proceeded to tell me that she was expecting funds from a particular source. She said she expected those funds to be a minimum of $200 however, upon arrival, it was only $20.  To her, it felt like a stinging slap in the face.

I set about attempting to encourage her.  I gave her scripture after scripture, reminding her that God would always take care of all her needs.  She stopped me mid-sentence and said, “I am going to sow it as seed, I refuse to eat my seed.”

I don’t recall who first said it because it was several years before.  I once heard a minister say, “If you are believing God for a particular amount and a smaller amount comes into your hands, if it won’t meet your need, it may be your seed.”

This is what my friend was referring to.

That moment, she decided.  She shook off the disappointment and chose instead to walk in joy AND that she would sow her seed.  The entire atmosphere changed, with that simple choice.  Once that happened, I felt led by the spirit of God to pray for her and pray over her seed.  I began to pray.  I reminded God of HIS promise found in Luke 6:38; “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”  I prayed this word over my friend and then I began to call monies into her hand.  I prayed that monies would come into her hand in hundred-dollar increments.

Now, I don’t know why I prayed for $100 increments, but that is what I felt led to pray.

A couple days later she called me and said, “You know, since you prayed that prayer, I have had a hundred dollars come into my hands four different times.  Praise the Lord!”

Our God hears and answers prayers.  I don’t know why God works the way He does, but He promises when we give it will be given back to us.  That day my faith was activated for her to have it given back in hundred-dollar bills and God honored my faith.

There was a connection between her seed and her harvest and thank God, her harvest came quickly.  She ended up with twice what she originally expected.  Our God is good.

It also reminded me of an email I received from a pastor friend of mine.  I want to share a portion of her email with you today…

“I don’t know if I told you this, but I was blessed to have a guest speaker come to my church on the last Sunday in June.  He is a Nigerian pastor who visits the US each year. My pastor suggested that I bring him to the church to speak. The date that Holy Spirit chose for him to come was also the date that I was taking the church members to our future location so they could see it and so that we could pray over the building and the land. Holy Spirit instructed me to ask the Nigerian pastor to go with us and to lead the prayer, which he did.

When I tell you it was a God setup, yes it truly was. Now mind you, I didn’t tell him anything about the building except we want to purchase it. He never said anything about it either until the next day.  He called to thank me for the generous seed. He also called to give me a word from the Lord concerning my life, the church, and the building. He gave me instructions on how to address the demonic spirits that are connected to the property.

Here is the amazing part. When we sowed the seed Holy Spirit told me that it put a demand on Pastor A.’s spirit to release a word that was detrimental to possessing the land. He told me that THAT SEED WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THAT PROPERTY. Then He said to me, “It was never about the money. It’s about the evil spirits that must be evacuated off the property prior to possession.” He said, “I have a purpose for that property and MY purpose supersedes THEIR price.”  Wow!!!!”

You see her seed was connected to her blessing as well.  What’s the connection?  Luke 6:38; Give and it shall be given unto you…good measure, pressed down and running over, shall men give into your bosom.  It’s God’s word and it cannot fail.

I don’t know what you are praying about today but if you have sown seed for it, remind God of His word in Luke 6:38.  Allow the spirit of God to lead you in the right way to pray and call forth your harvest.  What God did for my friend; He will do for you.  Our God is faithful, and His word cannot fail.
