Yesterday I was thinking about a few of our partners, these particular people were on my mind strong yesterday. As I was thinking about them, and praying for them, I realized they all had something in common. None of them had peace. They were each in turmoil or anxious concerning their situations.
I began to go over different scriptures in my mind that refer to peace, such as…
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.
2 Thess. 3:16
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil. 4
For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has mercy on you. Is. 54:10
There are many more scriptures on peace however as you can see, God made us some pretty big promises about peace. Peace is something God purchased for us at the cross and intends for us to walk in.
Peace is defined as a state of tranquility, the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is. I love that definition, don’t you? A man who is so sure of all that belongs to him through Christ that no matter what is going on around him, he knows he has nothing to fear.
This is where God wants us to dwell, in His peace. Jesus said MY PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU. That is an incredible amount of peace. Then how do we walk in that kind of peace? First we must know that it belongs to us and we must fight to walk in peace, no matter what is going on around us and regardless of what we hear.
Secondly, the key to staying in peace is found in Isaiah 26:3;You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you.
That’s the key to keeping our peace, we must keep our mind on God, not on our circumstances, not on our body, not on our finances, on our God and Him alone. Then and only then will we be able to remain in perfect peace.
Peace is vital to your outcome. Psalm 29:11 says; The Lord will give strength to His people. The Lord will bless His people with peace. Take a good look at this scripture. God gives us strength. However, He blesses us with peace. To bless is to empower to prosper – God empowers us to prosper by giving us peace. The same peace Jesus walked in. Wow! That is good news!
I want to close with this thought. Regardless of what you are going through, whether it is financial, health related, relationships or ministry, no matter what it is, peace is necessary. You must make a stand to walk in peace through it all. Romans 16 tells us that the God of peace will crush Satan under our feet. The God of peace. Not the God of prosperity, not the God of marriage, not the God of healing and wholeness, the God of peace.
Today I encourage you to let peace rule and reign in your heart. Do like the Bible tells you to do, don’t worry about anything, remain in peace….because Jesus already overcame it all, because of that, and that alone, we can obtain peace and walk in peace. The Lord, your God has given you His peace, walk in it. Don’t let anyone steal your peace, determine in your heart today that you are going to walk in peace from this day forth. Declare that you are empowered with peace today. Praise the Lord!
