1 Peter 1:22-25 teaches us about a wonderful enduring characteristic of the Word of God.

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.

In my experience from planting gardens here on earth, some seeds simply don’t come up – they don’t produce what they were planted to produce. There are many reasons for this. Maybe the soil needed nutrients. Perhaps there wasn’t enough rain. Or maybe the seed wasn’t planted deep enough, and the birds came and took it. What I am saying is sometimes when we plant seeds in the natural, they don’t produce a harvest.

Not so with the Word of God. The Word of God is incorruptible seed. What does that mean exactly?

It means the Word of God is the ONLY seed that, if planted deep in the soul of our heart, or is planted into our situation, is so pure it can never be destroyed or damaged by any external conditions – nothing can stop it from producing what it is sent to produce. It is the incorruptible seed that will, without fail, produce fruit after its kind.

This truth is confirmed in Isaiah 55:11

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

What does that mean for us today? It means if we plant the Word of God concerning a particular situation, it will produce all it was sent to produce…if we stand firm and refuse to give up.

For instance, if we need healing, we must dig through the Word of God, find scriptures concerning healing and begin to plant them inside of us. We do that by reading and meditating on those scriptures. By confessing them out loud. And most importantly, by believing what the Word of God says about us more than what we see or feel.

It is the same with finances. If you have lack, go through the Word of God, and find out what God has to say about your finances. Write those scriptures out and begin to declare them. When a bill comes in that you don’t have the money for, remind God of His Word concerning your finances and then speak to that bill. The Bible tells us to speak to our mountain. Speak to that bill and command it to be paid in full in Jesus’ name. Speak to your harvest of all the seeds you have sown and command them to come forth now, in this season. Speak to your mountain and it will move.

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

This applies to more than healing and finances, you can do this same thing over your marriage, your children, your job – whatever the need is, declare the Word of God over it and expect it to change.

My friend, there is nothing in your life that cannot be changed with the Word of God. Once you decide to apply the Word of God – things will begin to change. You may not see it immediately, but do not doubt it, it begins to happen the moment you pray and apply the Word of God. Therefore, DO NOT GIVE UP. Don’t give in. Refuse to become discouraged. God heard you the first time you prayed and your answer is on its way. Continue to plant seeds of the Word of God and call in your harvest – it will come – it will not tarry, and it cannot – it absolutely cannot fail to come to pass. We have His Word on it.
