“I will joy in the God of my salvation.” Habakkuk 3:18
I have often said that God works in atmospheres. Just like the weather, if the elements are conducive for a storm or tornado, that is what we will see. On the flip side, if the weather is conducive for a sunny, beautiful day – that is what we see.
It is the same with God – He works in atmospheres. I often tell my daughter to have peace and joy, because God works in atmospheres. Therefore we must make sure the atmosphere around us is conducive for what we need from God. In other words, remain in an atmosphere that is conducive to miracles and the presence of God. You see, whatever mood you are in is a pretty good indication of your faith. If you say you believe God but you are walking around sad and depressed, it’s a pretty sure bet that you don’t really believe Him at all.
On the other hand, if you have prayed and are standing in faith and you have a spring in your step and a smile on your face it shows to me that you are fully confident that God will do exactly what He said He would do. Actions speak loud.
So how do you act if you are in faith? Full of joy! 1 Peter 1:8 says; yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
Joy is the link between what you have prayed for and what you receive. Tremendous things happen when a person is full of joy. The enemy doesn’t quite know what to do with someone who has joy no matter what. Now, I am not saying it is always easy – but it is possible.
You see, joy is your faith in action. When you have joy in the midst of a trial – your faith is speaking. Your faith is saying ‘I believe God completely and I am going to act like it.’
When Jesus went to the cross, He purchased and provided for us a full benefit package – complete in every way – it’s called salvation. Salvation includes everything; health, wealth, wisdom, peace of mind, relationships, protection and so much more. What we have to do is make a draw from that complete package.
The Bible says in Isaiah 12:3, we draw from the wells of salvation with joy! That’s right; we draw forth what we need with joy. If you have lost your joy today, you need to get it back and draw deep from that well of life.
Are you feeling sick today? The Bible says a merry heart does good like medicine. You see, you can even take a medicine with no side effects – laughter, joy.
The Bible talks about a joy that is unspeakable and full of glory. That’s what we ought to be walking in today – so much joy that it is unspeakable. That joy will usher in the glory of the Lord.
Are you in mourning today? The Bible says that God will turn your mourning into dancing. Only God can do that – but He can and He does. If you have lost someone or something close to you – God will fill you with joy – if you will only ask.
So often we ask God for something and then in between the time we ask to the time we see the answer, we become tired, weary and even depressed. When we are walking around depressed or talking negative, God can’t work in that atmosphere – He works according to the Word of God. If you believe the Word of God – you will be speaking the Word and you will choose to have joy and peace.
You will laugh – you will enjoy the ride knowing that faith laughs at the impossible. Knowing that your God sets in the heavens and laughs at what the enemy is trying to do to you.
You know a Father would only laugh if He knew what the enemy was trying to do would never prosper. And if He laughs don’t you think you should too?
If you can have joy in the midst of the trial – you can have joy always – and you will become known as one who truly trusts God and it shows!
You know, time drags on when you are miserable – but don’t you recall how quickly time goes when you are having fun? If you want the time to pass quickly between the prayer request and the answer – then have fun – have joy unspeakable – and laugh – be just like your Father – just laugh, knowing the enemies end in your life has already come.
You have heard it before – you may be the only testimony many people will see – the only part of Jesus they will ever see. Let them see His joyful side. Let them see your faith in action – let them see a smile on your face and a spring in your step – let them see Christ in you today.
