One of my favorite things about this unique season we find ourselves in is reading the insight God is giving our partners. I love learning from each of you. Thank you for sharing what God is showing you.
As I discussed earlier, God is causing us to go deep into Him as He searches our heart. He is revealing areas we need to work on, or at least that I need to work on.
This most recent email from a partner was so insightful for me personally, I believe it will be for you as well.
It was one of those that made me say, “ouch!”
I want to share it with you today. Pay special attention to the key verse she was given by the Lord from the Passion Translation…
God has been teaching me to love, teaching me to be more like him as HE IS LOVE! Of course, his teachings come with opportunities to practice, to see if I can choose correctly – multiple choice, if you will.
When I was laid off, one of my co-workers (who has been difficult to work with) was kept on though he has only been there half as long as I have been. What a challenge and an opportunity, right?! God has been challenging me to remain in love and has shown me much through this situation.
First of all, he is single and therefore has no other stream of income where we have my husband’s income. Secondly, he does not have a relationship with God (though he may be saved, not sure), so it would automatically be tougher for him to navigate what is happening! Wow!
1 Cor. 10:24 – “So don’t always seek what is best for you at the expense of another!”
God said to me as I was reading this verse, “This is the next stage of love!”
Talk about shifting my perspective! He has given me joy by showing me the situation through this lens. (HIS LENS) What a good Father he is in taking care of his people. Of course, shortly after he walked me through this was when he said, “I don’t do anything half-way”. I am currently making more through unemployment than I would be if I was working!!!!! Only God can do that!
“Love” lessons are among the toughest for me to walk through as denying myself is never easy, but his rewards are ALWAYS worth it!
Have a blessed day!

Don’t always seek what is best for you…at the expense of another. Wow! That is powerful.
This is the next stage of love.
Let’s look at a few scriptures on this subject.
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Romans 12:10
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thess. 5:11
Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 1 Peter 4:9
Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being. 1. Corinthians 10:24
As my friend shared, NOW is the time to prefer others. To put others before you. To resist selfishness and freely give love. There is no greater time to do this than when it is hard to do, as it was with her. God sees a heart like that, and it pleases Him.
Now is the season to go to the next stage of love. I am all in, how about you? |
