This week, as many of you know, has been challenging at moments…thankfully, it has only be moments.
First, my body felt the symptoms of flu, then Bryson was sick and a couple days later, Brailee was sick. These were unexpected challenges however they had no power and they didn’t last long.
After that, a property I manage had some issues which caused the renter to be without power at the same exact time we had a snow storm coming. This didn’t last long either.
This week I have been reminded of the power of prayer and I must say, I am so very thankful for prayer and the God that answers prayer.
As much as I am thankful for that, I am as thankful for the power of agreement. It is so awesome to have people in your life, godly people, prayer-filled people, full of the word of God people whom you can call and will come into agreement with you UNTIL you see God move on your behalf. Those people are gifts that are great in value.
When the sicknesses first hit I called a prayer partner and ask them to pray with me. They did and we saw results with Bryson. Then I sent a text when Brailee was sick, a few hours later, I got a video from Breanne of Brailee and she was all better.
I spent that morning thanking God that he had put people in my life that would agree and pray with me.
There are many people who will say ‘I will pray for you’ or ‘I am praying for you.’ But there are precious few who will really take the time to pray for you, to war spiritually for you, to stand in the gap with you until you see the fulfillment and if you have those in your life, take a moment and thank them and appreciate them.
The Bible says in Matthew 18:19; Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
This word agree means to be in total unity concerning. If someone is going to come into agreement with you, then you both will have to be one in this prayer. Total unity is required. In other words you both must believe it is coming to pass, without doubt. That is the gift God has put in my life, people who are in total unity with me and my prayer – that is where the power lies – in the agreement…total unity.
The Bible says where there is unity, there is a commanded blessing of life evermore. Therefore when we pray in unity a blessing, an empowerment to prosper is on that prayer and you both give life to that prayer.
Another reason unity is important is this; sometimes we become weary, especially when we have been standing in faith for a promise for a long time. However, when someone is standing with us, it becomes much easier to stand.
Eccl. 4:9 says; Two are better than one, for they have a good reward for their labor and if one falls the other will pick him up.
I cannot begin to tell you how many times this has happened in my own life, times when I am weary and a friend, a GOD friend, comes along and speaks a word to me to encourage me and pick me up.
Friends, I said all this to say; if you have a prayer partner, tell them you appreciate them. If you have someone who stands in faith with you OR FOR YOU, tell them how much they are appreciated.
