This morning I was thinking about the power of vision.

This began as my daughter came into the office asking if we had a blank poster board for her to create a new prayer board.

We often purchase blank poster sized boards when we are entering a new time or season and create a prayer board. It is also a great thing to do at the end of a year or the beginning of a New Year.

When we moved into our office I created a prayer board with pictures of everything we would need for the office on it. I must say, each time I create a prayer board God is faithful to check things off for me.

It is a powerful tool that God showed me years ago. Now I have passed it on to my daughter. I learned the power of vision many years ago; the power of putting something before your face and keeping it before your eyes, we see this truth throughout the Bible.

Habakkuk 2:2 says; ‘write the vision and make it plain.’

When I make a prayer board that is exactly what I am doing.

The word vision means ‘something you can see’.

Therefore, on my vision board I place things I want to see come to pass. I write it down and make it plain.

We see this in the life of Abraham; God gave him something to look at when He promised him a son or many sons. He told him to look at the stars of the sky and look at the sand in the sea, that it was equivalent to the number of sons and daughters he would have. God gave him a visual.

God knew Abraham would need more than words, therefore He gave him something he could see with his eyes as well.

Each time Abraham saw the stars or sand, his faith was ignited, and he began to SEE what God had promised him.

He is now the father of many nations, just as God said he would be.

In the life of Jacob when he was told he could choose the spotted and speckled livestock, he knew this truth from Abraham. He took poplar sticks and made them spotted and speckled and placed them before the cattle. Day after day, the cattle saw the vision Jacob had placed before them.

Consequently, when they gave birth, it was to spotted and speckled livestock. This is how Jacob increased, by putting the vision in plain view.

Dr. Norvel Hayes taught me these principles years ago, he repeatedly reminded me that if I could see it, I could have it. I have applied this truth over and over again in my life. I have seen God do awesome things, even impossible things in my life through the power of vision.

Matthew 19:26 says ‘things that are impossible with man are possible with God.’

God has made many impossible looking things happen as I have placed His promises before my eyes and kept them there until I saw them come to pass.
I am so thankful my daughter sees this same truth.

I remember one year I told my Mom about this and she made a prayer board. She placed all her debts on it and a few other things; God took care of every debt that year, it was amazing…. she too saw that all things are possible with God and she saw the vision she placed before her come to pass.

It’s time to see the impossible done in your life, don’t you agree? Perhaps a prayer board would help ignite your faith. It worked for Abraham, it wasn’t a prayer board, but it was something he kept before his eyes.

Today I encourage you to get you a blank prayer board and put all the things you are believing God for on there, add scriptures too. Then place it somewhere that you will see it day and night. Each time you see it, thank God for the things on that board.

It will be just as the scripture says; ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.’
Today write the vision and make it plain, because it will SURELY COME, it will not tarry!

Prayer for today: Father, I thank you for the power of Vision. Help me to put my vision before my face and make it plain. Thank you for your word. In Jesus name. Amen.
